Full Job DescriptionAbout the Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain the server-side systems that power our e-commerce platform and internal tools. You will work closely with the frontend, design, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing applications, taking ownership of APIs, databases, and third-party integrations end to end.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js (Express.js/NestJS) and Laravel (PHP)
- Architect solutions following MVC principles and established backend design patterns
- Design, optimise, and manage relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including schema design and query performance
- Implement caching mechanisms and message queues to improve application performance and reliability
- Integrate third-party services and APIs (payments, logistics, communication tools, etc.)
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure smooth frontend–backend integration and adherence to API best practices
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues with a strong focus on root-cause analysis
- Participate in code reviews, maintain clean version-controlled code (Git), and follow Agile/Scrum workflows




- Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement of development processes

Requirements
- 3+ years of professional backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js)
- Practical experience with Express.js or NestJS
- Practical experience with Laravel and PHP
- Valuable understanding of MVC architecture and common backend design patterns
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases
- Solid understanding of RESTful API development
- Experience using Git/version control
- Basic understanding of caching mechanisms and message queues
- Experience integrating with third-party services and APIs
- Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum workflows
- Understanding of frontend–backend integration and API best practices

Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with TypeScript
- Understanding of frontend frameworks and libraries, particularly React.js and Vue.js
- Exposure to full-stack frameworks such as Next.js and Nuxt.js
