About DC ProcureDC Procure helps contractors win data center contracts by identifying the right developers, finding the right decision-makers, and reaching them with the right message at the right time.
We are building technology that makes business development and market intelligence more effective for companies operating in the rapidly growing data center ecosystem.
About the InternshipWe are looking for a Back-End Developer Intern to join our remote team for a 6-month paid internship.
You will work closely with our development and product teams to build, improve, and maintain the back-end systems that power the DC Procure platform. You’ll gain hands-on experience working with APIs, databases, application logic, integrations, and data-driven features in a real-world product environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a student, recent graduate, or early-career developer who wants to strengthen their back-end development skills through practical experience.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain back-end features and application services.
- Build and work with REST APIs and other integrations.
- Write clean, readable, and maintainable server-side code.
- Work with databases to store, retrieve, and manage application data.
- Implement business logic and data-processing workflows.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services where required.
- Debug and resolve back-end issues and application errors.
- Help improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to connect APIs with user-facing features.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Write basic tests and help maintain application quality.
- Document technical work and contribute to development processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of at least one back-end programming language such as Python, JavaScript/Node.js, Java, PHP, or similar.
- Understanding of APIs, HTTP, and client-server architecture.
- Basic knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
- Basic understanding of authentication, data validation, and application security.
- Robust problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to learn independently and apply feedback.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Good to Have
- Experience with Python, Node.js, FastAPI, Django, Express.js, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or another database system.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or deployment environments.
- Experience working with third-party APIs.
- Understanding of asynchronous programming and background jobs.
- Familiarity with Docker is a plus.
- Experience with GitHub and collaborative development workflows.
- Personal projects, coursework, open-source contributions, or a GitHub portfolio.
We do not require extensive professional experience. Demonstrated ability to learn, solve problems, and build working projects matters more than years of experience.
What You’ll Get
- Paid 6-month internship
- Fully remote work environment
- Hands-on experience working on a real product
- Mentorship and feedback from the development team
- Exposure to real-world APIs, databases, integrations, and application architecture
- Experience working with modern development tools and workflows
- Opportunity to build a portfolio of practical back-end work
- Collaborative experience with a growing technology company
- Potential opportunity to continue with DC Procure based on performance and business requirements
Who Should ApplyThis internship is a good fit if you:
- Enjoy solving technical problems and building systems behind applications.
- Want to move beyond tutorials and work on real-world software.
- Are curious about APIs, databases, automation, and data.
- Take ownership of your work and communicate proactively.
- Are comfortable learning new technologies and debugging unfamiliar problems.
