Role Summary
1.To develop, evaluate, and optimize metalworking fluid formulations while providing technical support to customers and internal teams.
2.The role involves product development, laboratory testing, troubleshooting field performance issues, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1.Develop and improve water-soluble, semi-synthetic, synthetic, and neat cutting oils for various machining applications.
2.Formulate products to meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
3.Conduct laboratory evaluation of metalworking fluids, including:
*Emulsion stability
*Corrosion protection
*Foam characteristics
*Hard water stability
*Lubricity
*reserve alkalinity, and microbial resistance
4.Prepare product specifications, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS), and technical reports.
5.Investigate customer complaints and provide root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
6.Visit customers for product trials, implementation, troubleshooting, and technical support.
Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams during product demonstrations, customer approvals, and new business development.
7.Coordinate with Production and Quality Control to ensure successful scale-up and consistent product quality.
8.Evaluate new raw materials and additives for performance enhancement and cost optimization.
9.Maintain laboratory records, formulation data, and development documentation.
10.Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Petrochemicals, or a related discipline.
Experience
5–8 years of relevant experience in R&D; or Technical Services for Metalworking Fluids.
Hands-on experience in developing and testing cutting fluids, grinding fluids, and metal forming lubricants.
Experience in customer trials, technical troubleshooting, and application support is essential.
Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of metalworking fluid chemistry and additive technologies.
Knowledge of emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, EP additives, lubricity improvers, biocides, and defoamers.
Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and performance evaluation of metalworking fluids.
Ability to interpret customer machining requirements and recommend suitable products.
Knowledge of machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding, broaching, and CNC, VMC machining.
Positive understanding of HSE requirements and regulatory compliance related to metalworking fluids.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation.
