Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager - Design with strong expertise in AutoCAD and CREO and hands-on experience in the LV Switchgear industry. The candidate will be responsible for product design, 3D modelling, engineering drawings, design modifications, and development of LV electrical switchgear products.

Experience in LV Switchgear / Electrical Switchgear product design is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and development of LV Switchgear products and components as per product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Prepare detailed 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop 3D models, assemblies and product components using CREO.
- Handle product design modifications, engineering changes and design improvements.
- Prepare and maintain part drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs and design documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, R&D; and Tool Room teams for design implementation.
- Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality requirements.
- Review existing products and identify opportunities for cost reduction, design optimization and product improvement.
- Support new product development from concept/design stage through prototype and production.
- Analyse design-related production issues and provide appropriate engineering solutions.




- Ensure drawings and specifications comply with applicable IS/IEC standards and company specifications.
- Maintain proper revision control of drawings and engineering documents.
- Coordinate with vendors/tooling teams for development of dies, moulds, fixtures and other product-related requirements.
- Support product testing, validation and corrective actions wherever required.
- Maintain confidentiality and proper control of all engineering and product design data.

Required Technical Skills

- AutoCAD Mandatory
- CREO Mandatory
- Strong knowledge of 2D drafting and 3D modelling
- Knowledge of sheet metal design, plastics/components and mechanical assemblies
- Understanding of BOM preparation and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling
- Working knowledge of LV Switchgear products and components
- Knowledge of IS/IEC standards applicable to electrical switchgear will be preferred.

Mandatory Industry Experience Candidates must have prior experience in LV Switchgear / Low Voltage Electrical Products, preferably involving products such as:

- MCB
- MCCB
- RCCB/RCBO
- Isolators
- Changeover Switches
- Distribution Boards
- Main Switches
- Modular Switchgear




- Busbars and related LV electrical components

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Electrical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
- Additional certification/training in CAD/CREO will be an advantage.

Experience

- 5-8 years of relevant design experience
- LV Switchgear product experience is mandatory.
- Candidates with experience in electrical switchgear product manufacturing/design will be preferred.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Design Engineer/Assistant Manager who can independently work on AutoCAD and CREO, understand manufacturing requirements, and has practical experience designing LV Switchgear products. Note: Candidates without prior LV Switchgear / Electrical Switchgear product experience will not be considered.
