Position Level: Senior Management
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading the Finance & Accounts function of BASL, providing strategic financial leadership across the organization's Lounges, Transit Hotel, Passenger Services, and other business verticals. The role will oversee financial planning, budgeting, MIS, accounting, controls, taxation, compliance, commercial finance, and business performance, while providing strategic financial insights to support BASLs growth and profitability.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Planning & Business Strategy
- Lead the overall finance function and provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and senior management.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, business plans, financial forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and business objectives and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions, investments, new projects, and expansion initiatives.
- Evaluate the financial viability of new business opportunities and commercial proposals.
2. Financial Management & Control
- Oversee day-to-day financial management, accounting, reporting, and financial controls across BASL.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls, processes, and approval mechanisms.
- Monitor operating expenses, profitability, cost structures, and financial efficiency across business verticals.
- Ensure proper financial governance and adherence to BASL/BIAL policies and approved financial frameworks.
3. Business & Commercial Finance
- Partner with the Commercial and Operations teams to drive revenue growth, profitability, and cost optimisation.
- Provide financial evaluation and recommendations for Lounge, Transit Hotel, Passenger Services, and new business initiatives.
- Review pricing, contracts, commercial proposals, vendor agreements, and business cases from a financial perspective.
- Analyse revenue streams, margins, customer profitability, and business performance.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and margin enhancement.
4. MIS, Reporting & Performance Management
- Develop and present comprehensive financial MIS and management dashboards to the CEO and senior leadership.
- Provide regular analysis of revenue, EBITDA, operating costs, working capital, cash flow, and profitability.
- Establish appropriate financial KPIs and performance metrics across business units.
- Provide timely variance analysis and actionable recommendations to management.

and timeliness of all financial information
5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Lead cash flow planning and ensure adequate liquidity to support business operations.
- Monitor receivables, payables, working capital, and cash conversion cycles.
- Drive timely collection of customer receivables and effective credit management.
- Optimise payment cycles and vendor management while maintaining strong business relationships.
- Monitor cash flow forecasts and proactively address potential liquidity risks.
6. Audit, Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation laws, GST, TDS, Companies Act requirements, and other statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
- Oversee statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits, and other financial reviews.
- Ensure robust documentation, financial governance, and compliance across all business functions.
- Identify and mitigate financial, tax, and compliance risks.
7. Cost Control & Procurement Finance
- Establish effective cost-control mechanisms across BASLs operations.
- Review major procurement proposals, contracts, capital expenditure, and vendor agreements from a financial perspective.
- Monitor departmental expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Partner with Operations and Procurement teams to improve cost efficiency without compromising service quality.
- Monitor CAPEX and ensure investments are aligned with approved budgets and business returns.
8. CAPEX & Asset Management
- Lead financial planning and evaluation of CAPEX projects, new lounges, Transit Hotel initiatives, business expansions, and infrastructure investments.
- Prepare financial feasibility studies, ROI analysis, and investment proposals.
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure, and financial performance.
- Ensure appropriate accounting and controls for fixed assets and capital expenditure.
9. Finance Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Finance & Accounts team across BASL.
- Establish transparent roles, responsibilities, KPIs, and performance expectations within the finance function.
- Build a high-performing finance team with strong focus on commercial acumen, financial control, accuracy, and business partnership.
- Develop finance processes and capabilities to support BASLs future growth.
- Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, continuous improvement, and financial discipline.
10. Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with CEO, Business Heads, Operations, Commercial, HR, Procurement, Legal, and BIAL Finance teams.
- Act as the key finance business partner to senior management and operational leadership.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, consultants, financial institutions, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide financial inputs and recommendations during management reviews and strategic decision-making.
11. Risk Management & Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and commercial risks across BASL.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval controls, and financial authorisation processes.
- Monitor potential financial risks arising from contracts, receivables, commercial commitments, taxation, and business expansion.
- Ensure the finance function supports strong corporate governance and business sustainability.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is preferred; MBA Finance / M.Com / equivalent qualification may be considered.
- 1218 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, with significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.
- Experience in luxury hotels, hospitality, aviation, airport services, travel, or other service-driven businesses is highly preferred.
- Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, MIS, commercial finance, cost control, taxation, audit, compliance, and financial governance.
- Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business decisions.
- Proven experience in leading and developing finance teams.
- Strong knowledge of GST, taxation, statutory compliance, accounting standards, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in managing multi-business or multi-unit operations will be an added advantage.
