An Assistant Fitter works under a Senior Fitter to assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and systems, using hand and power tools, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Key duties include assisting with dismantling, repair, and assembly of components, performing engineering measurements, and ensuring equipment functions correctly. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team to maintain high operational standards. Key Responsibilities

- Assisting in assembly and installation: Helping to fit and assemble mechanical components and machinery according to technical specifications and drawings.

- Maintenance and repair: Supporting the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting and replacing parts.

- Tool and equipment operation: Safely and effectively using a variety of hand and power tools, such as grinders, and maintaining the equipment.

- Technical interpretation: Reading and understanding technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure proper installation and assembly.

- Safety compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols, regulations, and procedures to maintain a protected work environment.

- Collaboration and teamwork:



Working closely with senior fitters, engineers, and other team members to optimize equipment performance and ensure project success.

- Material preparation: Assisting with preparing materials for welding, cutting, or grinding operations.

- Work area maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized, and performing basic maintenance on equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, knowledge of mechanical systems, and the ability to read technical drawings.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects, as often required in fabrication and assembly roles.

- Attention to Detail: A commitment to quality and precision in measurements and assembly.
