Key Responsibilities
- Review entity Trial Balance during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close; investigate unusual movements, misclassifications, and open items.
- Manage Balance Sheet general ledgers for group reporting, ensuring reconciliations, substantiation, aging, and movement explanations are complete and accurate.
- Review profit and loss results, validate accruals/reclasses, and provide clear commentary to P&L; owners on material variances.
- Act as the key contact for Group Reporting on submissions, schedules, and reporting queries, conducting comprehensive variance analysis.
- Coordinate external audits for assigned entities, including evidence review, query resolution, and audit action closure to ensure timely completion.
- Review outputs from process operations teams, such as R2R, AP, AR, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, and other finance processes to ensure compliant accounting.
- Identify control gaps and lead remediation initiatives, implement root-cause fixes, and propose process improvements to strengthen financial controls.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Group Reporting, P&L; Owners, Process Operations, and External Auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- The Assistant Manager - Accounting is a pivotal role within the FMCG sector, responsible for ensuring financial integrity and compliance for assigned entities.
- Based in Bangalore, this role demands close collaboration with Group Reporting, P&L; owners, and process operations teams to address financial discrepancies and enhance control mechanisms.
- The incumbent will oversee the financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy and readiness for audits through meticulous review of the Trial Balance,
Balance Sheet general ledgers, and profit and loss statements.
- This position plays a critical part in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
- Acting as the primary liaison for Group Reporting, the Assistant Manager will manage submissions, address reporting queries, and conduct variance analysis to maintain robust financial controls.
- Additionally, the role involves coordinating external audits and ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards.
- The Assistant Manager - Accounting will also identify control gaps, propose remediation strategies, and drive process improvements across various finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany transactions.
Requirements
- Strong experience in financial accounting, group reporting, Trial Balance review, Balance Sheet control, and profit and loss analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, and audit requirements, with the ability to ensure compliance across financial operations.
- Proven ability to review reconciliations, journals, schedules, and financial commentary with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
- Experience working within shared services or process operations environments, particularly under tight financial close timelines.
- Skilled qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or an MBA in Finance are preferred, alongside a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting roles within the FMCG sector or similar industries.
