Architect – Industrial ProjectsLocation: Bangalore
Reporting To: Lead Architect
Role OverviewThe Architect will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of architectural works for industrial estates, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and infrastructure developments. The role requires a positive understanding of industrial architecture, design coordination, statutory requirements, and construction support, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities1.
Architectural
Planning &
• Concept Design
- Assist in developing master plans and conceptual designs for industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and support buildings.
- Prepare schematic designs based on business, operational, functional, and regulatory requirements.
- Support optimization of land utilization, zoning, circulation, access, and future expansion requirements.
- Develop architectural layouts and presentations for internal and client reviews.
2.
Detailed Architectural
Design
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings including GFCs, tender drawings, working drawings, and construction details.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, industrial standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
- Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, and architectural documentation.
- Assist in maintaining standardized design templates for factories, warehouses, utilities, and other industrial buildings.
3.
Industrial Facility
Planning
- Support planning and design of:
- Manufacturing plants
- Warehouses and logistics facilities
- Office and administrative buildings
- Utility and support buildings
- ETP/STP and other infrastructure facilities
- Coordinate architectural layouts with process requirements, equipment layouts, material movement, and operational needs.
4.
Statutory & • Regulatory Compliance
- Assist in preparing drawings and documentation required for statutory approvals.
- Coordinate with local planning authorities and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Ensure designs consider applicable requirements of NBC, fire and safety regulations, accessibility norms, and other statutory codes.
- Support senior team members in the approval process and documentation.
5.
Multidisciplinary
Coordination
- Coordinate with Structural, MEP, Civil, Infrastructure, and other consultants.
- Review inputs from various disciplines and incorporate them into architectural drawings.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and resolve drawing/interface-related issues.
- Ensure architectural deliverables are aligned with overall project requirements and timelines.
6. Construction & • Site Support
- Visit project sites periodically to understand construction progress and resolve architectural issues.
- Review shop drawings and contractor submissions.
- Support resolution of site-related design clarifications and technical queries.
- Monitor adherence to approved architectural drawings and design intent.
7. Cost & • Design Optimization
- Support value engineering initiatives to achieve cost-effective design solutions.
- Assist in evaluating materials, finishes, and construction methodologies.
- Coordinate with the procurement and project teams for technical inputs, BOQs, and specifications.

Sustainability & • Design Innovation
- Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient design principles into projects.
- Support implementation of green building practices such as IGBC/LEED requirements, where applicable.
- Explore practical, low-maintenance, and cost-effective architectural solutions suitable for industrial environments.
Key Skills & • Competencies
- Good understanding of industrial architecture and building planning.
- Knowledge of factory, warehouse, office, and utility building layouts.
- Understanding of architectural design development and construction documentation.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
- Basic understanding of statutory requirements, NBC, fire and safety norms.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and consultants.
- Good attention to detail and design documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines.
- Commercial awareness and willingness to work on cost-effective design solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA) preferred.
Experience
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in architectural design and project execution.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, infrastructure, or large-scale commercial projects will be preferred.
- Exposure to industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, logistics facilities, or campus developments will be an added advantage.
