Role Description The Application Security Intern role is a remote internship focused on supporting security assessments of web applications and related systems. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in vulnerability identification, analyzing application behavior, and helping document security issues with clear technical details and remediation guidance. The intern may support controlled attack simulations, review code or configurations under supervision, and contribute to research on emerging threats, tools, and techniques.

Responsibilities also include preparing reports, maintaining documentation,



and collaborating with senior team members to refine assessment methodologies and improve internal processes. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in application security within a professional, mentoring-focused environment.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge of web application security concepts (e.g., common vulnerabilities, HTTP, authentication, authorization).
- Familiarity with basic security testing tools and techniques (such as intercepting proxies, scanners, or fuzzing tools).
- Understanding of programming or scripting languages relevant to web applications (for example, JavaScript, Python, or similar).
- Ability to research, analyze, and clearly document technical findings for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Comfort working independently in a remote environment and collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
- Interest in staying current with up-to-date attack methods, security trends, and best practices in application security.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or formal training in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
