Role: AI Forward Deployed Engineer (AI FDE)
Work directly at customer and field sites to deploy, integrate, and adapt Zoppler Systems' AI-driven platforms for real-world mission environments. The role involves fine-tuning and evaluating models against live operational data, and close collaboration with end users to turn field feedback into working AI solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Deploy, configure, and support Zoppler Systems' AI/ML models and pipelines directly at customer and field sites.
- Work closely with end users, operators, and domain experts to understand mission requirements and translate them into working AI solutions.
- Rapidly fine-tune, evaluate, and adapt models against real-world field data, sensor feeds, and operational constraints.
- Debug and resolve issues across the AI stack — data pipelines, inference, and model integration — often on-site and under time pressure.
- Feed field learnings and model performance data back to the AI and product teams to drive rapid iteration and improvement.
- Travel to customer and deployment sites as required, including field trials and operational environments.
What We’re Looking For
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in CS/ECE or related fields.
- Strong programming fundamentals in Python and/or C++, with hands-on experience in ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar)
- Comfort working directly with customers and translating ambiguous requirements into working AI/ML solutions
- Hands-on experience with model training, fine-tuning, or deployment, including on constrained or edge hardware
- Ability to work independently in the field, including at customer or deployment sites
- Willingness to travel, including to remote or high-security environments as required
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in a forward-deployed AI/ML, applied AI, or field engineering role
- Exposure to computer vision, sensor fusion, or signal/radar data processing
- Experience with Git or modern version control systems
- Interest in aerospace, defense, or sensor systems
- Familiarity with GPU-accelerated computing and Linux environments for rapid prototyping
- Exhibits alignment with organizational values, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a strong sense of ownership toward the company’s mission
