Role Description The Agriculture Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Barauli, supporting field implementation of sustainable agriculture practices. The role involves providing technical assistance to farmers on crop management, soil health, irrigation systems, and natural farming methods.

The Agriculture

Technician will collect and document field data, monitor crop performance, and support demonstrations and training sessions related to Agri SAARTHI’s programs. Day-to-day tasks include visiting farms, troubleshooting agronomic issues, coordinating with program trainers and researchers,



and ensuring that recommended practices are properly adopted. The role may also assist in basic agribusiness activities such as coordinating input supply, promoting program offerings, and supporting farmer outreach and engagement.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Agriculture and practical field agronomy, including crop production and soil health management.
- Candidates should possess skills in Irrigation and water management, including layout, maintenance, and efficient use of irrigation systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Technical Assistance and farmer advisory services, including troubleshooting field issues and delivering on-site support.
- Candidates should possess skills in Agribusiness and Sales, including basic understanding of input supply chains, farm economics, and responsible promotion of services.
- Diploma or degree in Agriculture or related field (e.g., agronomy, agricultural engineering) is preferred.
- Experience working directly with farming communities and familiarity with sustainable or natural farming practices is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in straightforward terms.
- Ability to work in rural field conditions, travel locally as needed, and maintain accurate records of field activities.
- Basic proficiency in using mobile or digital tools for data collection and reporting.
