About the Role
We are looking for a result-oriented Admission Counsellor who can effectively engage with prospective students and working professionals, understand their career aspirations, recommend suitable programmes, and convert enquiries into successful enrolments.
This is a sales-oriented admissions role that requires strong communication, counselling, follow-up, negotiation,
and closing skills. The candidate should be comfortable handling both inbound enquiries and proactive outbound calling.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel prospective students and working professionals regarding suitable programmes based on their career goals and requirements.
- Make outbound calls to prospective candidates from assigned databases, leads, enquiries, referrals, and campaigns.
- Handle incoming leads generated through digital marketing, website enquiries, social media, WhatsApp, events, and other channels.
- Explain programme structure, eligibility, curriculum, certification, fees, career opportunities, and other relevant details clearly.
- Manage the complete admission cycle from initial enquiry and counselling to follow-up, documentation, fee payment, and final enrolment.
- Conduct regular and structured follow-ups through calls, WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels.
- Build trust and maintain professional relationships with prospective students and parents wherever applicable.
- Achieve assigned weekly and monthly admission/revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, follow-ups, conversions, and admissions in the CRM/lead management system.
- Identify high-potential leads and maintain an active sales pipeline.
- Handle candidate objections regarding programme fees, career outcomes, eligibility, and other admission-related concerns.
- Coordinate with the Marketing, Academic, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure a smooth admission experience.
- Participate in admission campaigns, webinars, seminars, education events, and other student engagement initiatives as required.
- Provide regular reports on lead status, follow-ups, conversions, collections, and admission performance.
- Ensure all communication with students is professional and aligned with the organisation's standards.
Candidate Requirements
- 1–5 years of experience in Admission Counselling, Education Sales, Inside Sales, Tele-Sales, Career Counselling, or a similar role.
- Previous experience in EdTech, Higher Education, Skilled Education, Training Institutes, BFSI Education, or Skill Development will be preferred.
- Strong communication, persuasion, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Comfortable with outbound calling and target-based sales.
- Ability to understand student requirements and recommend appropriate programmes.
- Strong follow-up and relationship-management skills.
- Working knowledge of CRM systems, MS Excel/Google Sheets, WhatsApp, email, and basic reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple leads and maintain a structured sales pipeline.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
