Role Description This full-time 5G Core Developer role is based in Mumbai in a hybrid work model, combining on-site collaboration with adaptable work-from-home options. The role involves designing, developing, and integrating 5G core network functions, including control and user plane components, based on industry standards and Tata Communications’ architecture. The individual will write and optimize high-performance code, perform unit and integration testing, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure reliability, scalability, and security of 5G core services.





Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams such as network engineering, cloud operations, and product management, participating in solution design reviews, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployment and monitoring. The role also requires documenting technical designs, supporting internal stakeholders with technical guidance, and staying current with 3GPP specifications and evolving 5G and cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to debug complex network issues, interpret performance data, and optimize 5G core components.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, document technical solutions, and present design decisions clearly.
- Candidates should possess solid Software Development skills, including experience with microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD practices.
- Candidates should possess Programming skills in languages commonly used in telecom and cloud-native environments (e.g., C/C++, Java, Go, Python) and familiarity with REST APIs and scripting.
- Candidates should possess basic Sales and stakeholder support skills to translate technical capabilities into business value and assist pre-sales or solution teams when required.
