Role Description The Connection Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai, focused on the design and detailing of steel connections for structural steel projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing structural drawings and specifications, performing connection design calculations, and preparing detailed connection design sketches and reports using industry standards and relevant codes. The engineer will collaborate closely with project engineers, detailers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are safe, efficient, and constructible, while meeting project schedules and client requirements.





The role also involves reviewing and coordinating CAD models and shop drawings, resolving design issues during fabrication and erection, and supporting quality assurance processes. The position requires proactive communication, adherence to company and regulatory standards, and continuous improvement of design methods and tools.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Mechanical/civil Engineering applied to structural steel connections.
- Proficiency in Mathcad and Autocad tools for designing and detailing the connections.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in connection design, steel structures, or structural engineering roles.
- Knowledge of applicable design codes and standards (e.g., AISC, IS codes) and familiarity with structural analysis principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional and multi-location teams.
- Robust problem-solving abilities, time management skills, and commitment to safety and ethical engineering practices.
