Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop optical systems including lenses, mirrors, prisms, beam splitters, filters, and laser modules for imaging, targeting, ranging, and sensing applications
- Perform optical simulations and tolerance analysis using industry-standard tools
- Select and qualify laser sources, detectors, photodiodes, and optical components from vendors
- Design and optimise collimation, focusing, and beam shaping systems across visible, IR, and NIR wavelengths
- Carry out optical alignment, boresighting, and calibration of integrated systems
- Collaborate with electronics and firmware teams on laser drivers, detector readout circuits, signal conditioning, and power systems
- Review schematics and PCB layouts from an opto-electronic performance perspective (noise, EMI, grounding, thermal effects)
- Develop and execute optical performance test plans (MTF, resolution, distortion, beam divergence, power output, SNR)
- Support environmental and reliability testing (temperature, humidity, vibration, shock, ingress protection)
- Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, assembly guidelines, and compliance reports
- Support prototype development, field trials, and production ramp-up




- Troubleshoot optical and opto-electronic issues across development and deployment stages

Required Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech / M.Tech in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Electronics, Physics, or related field
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in optical system design and development
- Solid understanding of optics fundamentals (geometrical optics, wave optics, photonics)
- Experience with optical design and simulation tools
- Hands-on experience in optical alignment, calibration, and testing
- Basic understanding of opto-electronics and embedded systems integration
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

- Experience with laser systems and IR/NIR optics
- Knowledge of detectors (photodiodes, CCD/CMOS sensors)
- Exposure to defence, surveillance, or targeting systems
- Familiarity with signal processing and electronics interfacing
- Understanding of EMI/EMC, thermal effects, and rugged system design

Pay: ₹16,948.45 - ₹54,499.64 per month
