Urgent Hiring – Incoming Quality Control Engineer

Department: Quality

Role Purpose

We are looking for a hands-on Incoming Quality Control Engineer with strong practical experience in precision manufacturing, dimensional inspection, metrology and supplier quality.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming raw materials, bought-out components, outsourced parts and supplier-processed components meet engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders and quality requirements before being released to production.

Solid practical knowledge of measuring instruments and shop-floor inspection is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform incoming inspection of raw materials, components and outsourced parts.
- Verify materials/components against drawings, specifications, PO, BOM, control plans and approved samples.
- Check part number, revision, quantity, material identification and traceability.
- Release conforming material to production.
- Identify, segregate and block non-conforming material.
- Inspect CNC machined components, aluminium extrusions, steel/stainless steel/brass/aluminium materials, forgings, castings, sheet metal, injection moulded parts, fasteners, plated/anodized/powder-coated components and assemblies.
- Prepare incoming inspection and rejection reports.
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production, Engineering and Supplier Quality teams.

Mandatory Metrology & Measuring Instrument Knowledge

Hands-on experience with the following instruments is mandatory:

- Vernier Caliper
- Outside / Inside Micrometer
- Bore Gauge
- Height Gauge
- Depth Gauge
- Dial Indicator / DTI
- Thread Plug & Ring Gauges
- Snap Gauge
- Pin Gauge
- Feeler Gauge
- Radius Gauge
- Surface Roughness Tester
- Profile Projector
- VMM

Preferred: CMM, Roundness/Cylindricity Tester, Air Gauging, Contour Measuring Equipment and special inspection fixtures.

Candidate should understand least count, resolution, calibration status, gauge setting, measurement repeatability, instrument selection according to tolerance, datum-based inspection and GD&T; measurement requirements.

Candidates with only documentation/audit experience and weak practical measurement skills will not be preferred.

Engineering Drawing & GD&T;





- Read and interpret engineering drawings independently.
- Understand limits & fits, datum systems and tolerances.
- Knowledge of flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity, position, runout, concentricity, profile, surface finish and threads.
- Select the correct inspection method and measuring instrument for drawing requirements.

Raw Material Verification

- Material grade and chemical composition
- Mechanical properties and hardness
- Heat/Batch number
- MTC/Mill Test Certificate
- Certificate of Conformance
- Dimensions and tolerances
- Surface condition
- Material traceability
- Coordinate laboratory testing wherever required

Non-Conforming Material Control

Follow the process:

Identify → Segregate → Label → Block → Disposition

- Raise NCR / incoming rejection reports.
- Prevent rejected material from entering production.
- Coordinate sorting, rework, replacement, RTV or concession/deviation.
- Maintain complete traceability of rejected material.

Supplier Quality Coordination

- Communicate supplier quality issues with Purchase and Supplier Quality teams.
- Share technical rejection details with inspection data, drawing references and photographs.
- Follow up with suppliers for RCA, 5 Why, CAPA and 8D.
- Track repeat supplier quality issues and support supplier improvement.

Quality Tools

Working knowledge of:

5 Why | Fishbone | 8D | CAPA | Pareto | SPC | MSA | Gauge R&R; | Control Plan | PFMEA | PPAP | Root Cause Analysis

Focus should be on permanent corrective action and prevention of recurrence, not just defect detection.

Qualification & Experience

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering




- 4–8 years of relevant quality experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years of direct Incoming Quality / Supplier Quality experience preferred
- Experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, industrial engineering or export manufacturing will be an advantage.

Selection Process

The selection process may include a practical inspection test, where the candidate will be required to:

- Read an engineering drawing
- Select appropriate measuring instruments
- Inspect a precision-machined component
- Record measurement results
- Identify non-conformities
- Explain the acceptance/rejection decision

Practical measurement and inspection capability will be a key selection criterion.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a technically strong, disciplined and hands-on Quality Engineer who is comfortable working in the inspection area, stores and shop floor.

The ideal candidate should ensure that incorrect material, incorrect dimensions, unapproved supplier parts and untraceable material do not enter production.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
