Behavior Technician (BT)

Location: Thane, Maharashtra, India
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Work Settings: Clinic, Home, School, and Community-Based

Job Summary

The Behavior Technician (BT) provides 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children and individuals with autism and other developmental needs. Working under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or qualified clinical supervisor, the Behavior Technician implements individualized treatment programs, supports skill development, reduces challenging behaviors, collects accurate data, and maintains appropriate session documentation.

The role involves working closely with clients, families, BCBAs, and other members of the clinical team. The position requires a compassionate, patient, responsible, and adaptable individual who is committed to supporting children and families.

Reporting Structure

The Behavior Technician will report to the BCBA, Clinical Supervisor, Program Supervisor, Clinic Manager, and/or Director of Clinical Services, as applicable.

Key ResponsibilitiesDirect ABA Therapy

- Provide high-quality 1:1 ABA therapy to clients in clinic, home, school, and/or community settings.
- Implement individualized treatment and skill-building programs developed by the BCBA or clinical supervisor.
- Use positive and evidence-based behavior intervention strategies to support skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Follow treatment protocols and clinical guidance consistently and accurately.
- Engage clients in structured learning, social, communication, play, and daily living activities as outlined in their treatment plans.

Data Collection & Documentation

- Accurately collect and record client data during therapy sessions.
- Maintain timely and accurate session notes and service documentation.
- Communicate relevant observations, progress, concerns, and behavioral changes to the supervising BCBA or clinical team.




- Maintain confidentiality and handle client information in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.

Collaboration & Family Support

- Work collaboratively with BCBAs, clinical supervisors, caregivers, and other members of the therapy team.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients and their families.
- Support caregivers by following clinical recommendations and maintaining consistency across therapy environments.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and clinical reviews as required.

Training & Professional Development

- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, competency assessments, and professional development activities.
- Maintain and improve knowledge of ABA principles, behavior intervention strategies, client safety, and ethical professional practices.
- Deliver therapy services in accordance with established competency and clinical standards.

Clinic & Administrative Support

- In the event of a client cancellation, assist with assigned administrative or clinic-related activities.
- Tasks may include preparing therapy materials, organizing treatment areas, sanitizing toys and equipment, and supporting general clinic organization.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients and families.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Education, Behavioral Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, individuals with autism, special needs, education, childcare, or ABA therapy is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.




- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of Hindi and/or Marathi is an advantage.
- Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working with children with developmental needs.
- Ability to follow clinical instructions and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong flexibility, adaptability, organization, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to learn ABA principles and participate in ongoing training.
- Ability and willingness to travel to client homes, schools, and other service locations when required.
- Reliable transportation is required for roles involving regular home/community-based services.
