Samudra is looking for a technically robust, hands-on Technical Product & Solutions Manager to take end-to-end ownership of its Bio-Digester, Bio-STP and packaged wastewater treatment solutions. The role combines process engineering, product development, project engineering, technology integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, costing and technical customer support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technology & Product Ownership
- Develop strong working knowledge of DRDO Anaerobic Bio-Digester Technology and CSIR-NIIST NOWA technology.
- Understand and apply anaerobic digestion, biological treatment, filtration, disinfection and sludge-management technologies.
- Translate technology-transfer documentation and process requirements into practical engineering specifications and commercial products.
- Serve as Samudra's internal technical authority for Bio-Digester and wastewater-treatment technologies.
2. Product Development & Standardisation
- Develop standardized packaged and skid-mounted STP/Bio-STP solutions, broadly covering capacities from 1 KLD to 40 KLD and above.
- Develop standard configurations, process designs, calculations, PFDs, P&IDs;, equipment specifications, tank/chamber sizing and BOMs.
- Develop SOPs, commissioning procedures, O&M; manuals, troubleshooting protocols and quality-control parameters.
- Drive the transition from customized project solutions to repeatable, scalable Samudra products.
3. Wastewater Process & Design Engineering
- Evaluate wastewater characteristics including pH, BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, oil & grease, nitrogen, phosphates and microbiological parameters.
- Select appropriate treatment trains based on influent characteristics and required treated-water quality.
- Carry out or verify calculations relating to:
Hydraulic retention time and organic loading| Reactor and equalization volumes| Aeration and oxygen requirements| Blower and pump sizing| Media requirements| Sludge generation| Filtration loading| Disinfection dosage| Treated-water storage| Develop integrated treatment systems incorporating appropriate combinations of anaerobic treatment, biological polishing, MBBR, filtration,
disinfection and tertiary treatment.
4. Project Engineering & Execution
Own the technical lifecycle from:
Customer Requirement → Site Assessment → Wastewater Characterisation → Process Design → Proposal → Engineering → Manufacturing → Installation → Commissioning → Performance Testing → Handover
Prepare and review:
Technical proposals & treatment philosophies| PFDs & P&IDs;| Equipment schedules & technical datasheets| Project specifications| Installation drawings| Commissioning procedures| O&M; documentation
5. Manufacturing & Engineering Interface
Work closely with Samudra's FRP manufacturing and fabrication teams to convert process designs into reliable physical systems.
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, FRP tank construction, tank geometry, internal partitions, baffles, pipe penetrations, equipment mounting, skid fabrication, mechanical piping, electrical panels and instrumentation is expected.
6. Commissioning & Troubleshooting
- Visit project sites and lead technical commissioning and performance validation.
- Diagnose issues such as high BOD/COD, odour, excess sludge, foaming, poor settling, low dissolved oxygen, hydraulic/organic overloading, pump/blower failures and contamination.
- Distinguish between design, equipment and operational problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Establish commissioning and performance-testing protocols.
7. Technical Support to Sales & Customers
- Participate in important customer and consultant discussions.
- Assess wastewater quantity, pollution load, available space, treated-water requirements, disposal/reuse requirements, operating conditions and power availability.
- Provide technically sound and commercially practical solutions to customer requirements.
- Support the Sales & Marketing team with technical proposals and solution development.
8. Regulatory & Performance Compliance
Support development and validation of systems in accordance with applicable BIS, CPCB, Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) and other relevant regulatory requirements, including IS 18797:2024, wherever applicable.
Coordinate sample collection, laboratory testing, third-party testing, performance trials, documentation and regulatory submissions.
9. Cost & Commercial Engineering: Work with Procurement, Production and Finance to establish - Product and equipment costing| BOMs| Installation costs| Power and chemical consumption| Maintenance costs| Operating and life-cycle costs|
Key Qualifications
· B.Tech / M.Tech in Environmental Engineering| Chemical Engineering/Civil Engineering with Environmental specialization
- Biotechnology / Biochemical Engineering
- Environmental Biotechnology or Process Engineering
· Mechanical Engineering candidates with substantial hands-on experience with waste water treatment
Experience
5–10 years of relevant experience in: Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs)| Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs)| Packaged / skid-mounted STPs| Biological wastewater treatment| STP commissioning and troubleshooting| Wastewater EPC / technology companies| Environmental engineering / consulting organizations| Water-treatment technology companies| STP manufacturing organizations

Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
