Job Description – YouTube Manager

We are looking for a creative, strategic and result-oriented YouTube Manager to manage and grow the YouTube presence of our UPSC Civil Services Preparation Institute.

The ideal candidate should understand the YouTube ecosystem, audience behaviour, content strategy and analytics, and should be capable of working closely with faculty, content creators, video editors and the marketing team to grow the channel organically.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a YouTube growth strategy for UPSC and Civil Services aspirants.
- Plan monthly and weekly content calendars based on UPSC preparation, current affairs, GS subjects, answer writing, motivation, strategy and student-focused content.
- Coordinate with faculty members for video topics, scripts, titles and content planning.
- Research trending and high-potential topics relevant to UPSC aspirants.
- Optimize videos for better reach through:
- Video Titles
- Descriptions
- Tags and Keywords
- Thumbnails
- Playlists
- End Screens and Cards
- Work closely with the video editing and design team to ensure engaging videos and high-CTR thumbnails.
- Manage and publish long-form videos, YouTube Shorts, live classes and webinars.
- Monitor channel performance through YouTube Analytics and prepare regular performance reports.
- Analyze metrics such as views, watch time, audience retention, CTR, subscribers and engagement.
- Identify underperforming content and suggest improvements.
- Develop strategies to increase organic subscribers, views and watch time.
- Manage YouTube community engagement, including comments, polls and community posts.
- Stay updated with YouTube algorithm changes, content trends and competitor activities.
- Coordinate with the digital marketing team to use YouTube content for lead generation and course promotions.

Required Skills





- Strong understanding of YouTube SEO, YouTube Analytics and channel growth strategies.
- Experience in managing and growing YouTube channels.
- Good understanding of content planning and audience behaviour.
- Ability to research relevant topics and identify content opportunities.
- Experience with tools such as YouTube Studio, Google Trends and keyword research tools.
- Basic understanding of video editing and thumbnail creation will be an added advantage.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with faculty members, content creators, editors and designers.

Experience in any of the following sectors will be preferred:

- Education / EdTech
- Competitive Exam Preparation
- Online Learning Platforms

Candidates who have previously worked on education-focused or knowledge-based YouTube channels will be given preference.

Experience Required

2–5 years of relevant experience in YouTube Management, Content Strategy, Digital Content or Channel Growth.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who does not just upload videos, but can take ownership of the complete YouTube channel growth strategy. The candidate should be able to identify what UPSC aspirants want to watch, plan content accordingly, optimize every video for reach and continuously use data and analytics to improve performance.
