JOB RESPONSIBILITY

CLINICAL

1. Ensure pre-operative checklist is made on accepting the patient into the OT and prior to the administration of any anesthetics or surgical procedure along with the Nurse anesthetist.

2. Ensuring that Hospital surgical policies and procedures are adhered to in relation to operations and correct procedures are followed in the checking of swabs, instruments, needles etc.

3. To ensure that correct aseptic techniques are used at all times.

4. To administer medicines in accordance With Hospital guidelines, Policies and Procedures and as prescribed by the surgeon.

5. To undertake delegated responsibilities when needed by the surgeon and take charge of a shift without direct supervision.

6. Correctly follow routine maintenance schedules and sterilization procedures for equipment.

7. Administering O2, NO2& CO2 when required and perform suction during procedures.

8. Monitoring fluid electrolyte balance, Intravenous canalization, administering intravenous fluid, monitoring and maintain adequate record of intake and output.

9. Administering drugs- oral, sublingual, intravenous, intra dermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular.

10. Collect blood samples for blood investigation and monitoring blood glucose values with the use of glucometer.

Emergency patient care and assisting surgeon during surgeries.

12. To assist medical staff in normal and complicated surgeries in the Hospital.

ADMINISTRATIVE

- To supervise and monitor the drug stock system and timely ordering of medicines and material in coordination with the Nurse anaesthetist.
- To maintain and keep stock of all equipments and instruments in the operation theatre along with the Nurse Anaesthetist.

SUPERVISION, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

- To provide clinical supervision and training in nursing procedures in the OT to the Hospital staff nurses when required.
- To participate in leading, supporting, counseling of all staff to ensure that all development needs are identified and a cohesive multidisciplinary team approach is maintained.
- Support newly qualified staff during their six months of Preceptor ship.
- To attend all mandatory and statutory training.
- Attend meetings and training seminars for personal development.
- To develop your role through evidence based practice and continuously improve own knowledge following standard guidelines.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
