General Purpose of the Position:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality programs and policies. Responsible for comprehensive planning, organization, direction, and control of all aspects of welding project execution to ensure protected, timely, and cost-effective delivery. This role requires strong leadership of project teams, effective coordination with clients, and strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and technical specifications.
Responsible for and actively manages IGS field services personnel and communications with clients while building and maintaining interpersonal relationships. To implement resource plan, mobilization, project safety, personnel, equipment, material control, project documentation and reporting. Support customer relations and communication, scope and quality management, demobilization, and post project review for Metal Spray, weld overlay, mechanical or LPA filtration projects from a site location within the quoted time and budget. Understand IGS products and service offerings and how they relate to solving metal wastage problems for customer equipment and processes, support growth of strong customer relationships.
Key responsibilities include implementing resource planning, workforce mobilization, site safety protocols, personnel and equipment management, material control, and maintaining accurate project documentation and reporting. The Project Supervisor also supports client communication and relationship management, ensures scope compliance and quality assurance, oversees project demobilization, and conducts post-project reviews - all within the approved budget and timeline. The Project Supervisor is the primary liaison between the company and the client, representing the organization in all matters related to welding project execution and performance on-site.
Provides feedback to IGS management team for corporate strategic initiatives related to customer service, safety, quality, project incentives and technical training needs. Supports IGS strategic growth objectives through execution of quality projects that directly impact the scalability and efficacy of IGS. Acts as a company liaison with the project client on all matters related to safety, timeline, identification of additional work and upsell opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Lifecycle Management (in Collaboration with the Project Manager):
- Manage welding projects across all phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation, and closure.
- Develop and implement project strategies aligned with contractual obligations and company goals.
- Control the project's critical path schedule to ensure timely delivery and milestone achievement.
- Oversee project budgets, track costs, and ensure profitability through efficient resource utilization.
- Manage and lead field crews ranging from 5 to 80 personnel, ensuring optimal staffing and high team performance.
- Approve man-hours on weekly timesheets and assist Team Leaders with accurate completion and submission.
- Generate project plan summarizing schedule of events.
- Plan site layout per customer, work and safety requirements.
- Communicate resource requirements.
- Oversee travel, lodging and other personnel logistics or aid Team Leaders and/or Project Managers as needed.
- Verify resource availability and identify/address deficiencies to ensure appropriate levels of personnel are assigned to the project.
- Communicate resource requirements to the Resource Scheduler.
- Request project equipment, materials and consumables from internal resource providers.
- Communicate team schedule and confirm departures and arrivals as needed with assigned Team Leaders.
- Prepare, maintain, and control project management files and reports for pre and post job work.
- Obtain required customer approvals and signatures.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend client equipment inspections and pre-project site visits to assess conditions and requirements.
- Review and confirm project scope, schedule, and deliverables with the client.
- Provide regular updates to maintain transparency and strong customer relationships.
- Scope and sell additional project opportunities while on-site, identifying value-added services and upselling potentials.
- Responsible for in office quality management.
- Manage project scope and manage scope change with regards to client communication, commercial variation orders, area calculations and technical and/or quality impacts.
- Assist Project Manager with schedule management, progress tracking and projections.
- Review onsite engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective action in collaboration with the project manager.
Operational Execution:
- Ensure project execution aligns with scope, technical specifications, and all applicable safety protocols.
- Monitor and control field activities, including team performance, quality assurance, and safety compliance.
- Oversee logistics such as accommodations, travel arrangements, materials, and equipment delivery.
- Supervise material handling, equipment setup and teardown, and adherence to IGS welding technologies and QA/QC procedures.
- Manage work to scope of contract.
- Manage critical path schedule.
- Manage equipment specifications, material, and consumables on site.
- Responsible for commercial billing support including Time and Material approvals.
- Management of 5 to 80-person crew.
- Approve man hours on weekly timesheets for payroll and help Team Leaders with completion of timesheets.
- Understand IGS and customer health and safety policies, guidelines and procedures and ensure compliance.
- Monitor and control project costs in accordance with scope of work.
- Responsible for on-site client communication.
- Coordinate final inspection by customers and external inspectors.
Equipment and Processes Support:
- Understand IGS products and service offerings and how they relate to solving metal wastage problems for customer equipment and processes.
- Perform quality inspections, as needed, of surface applications.
- Analyze quality data and communicate recommended solutions to the client based on the results.
- Understand equipment operation and requirements for repair and maintenance and provide guidance and/or assistance as needed to teams.
- Plan, execute, and support technical internal/external projects.
- Participate in new product development and commissioning.
Administrative and Commercial Management:
- Maintain accurate project documentation and compliance records.
- Provide commercial billing support, including approval of Time and Material (T&M;) sheets and other billable items.
- Approve project-related expenses such as travel, lodging, and consumables.
- Submit all required project documentation to the client within 10 working days of completion.
- Lead post-project evaluations, lessons learned reviews, and team performance assessments.
Safety and Quality:
- Enforce all health, safety, and environmental regulations, both internal and client-specific.
- Identify and immediately correct unsafe work conditions to ensure the safety of all personnel.
- Monitor subcontractor activities to avoid conflicts and maintain site safety compliance.
- Conduct quality checks and field inspections to verify adherence to project plans and industry standards.
Education and Experience Required:
- Experience with specialized technology-based field services operations servicing offshore, refining, petrochemical and power industries is preferred.
- 5+ years progressive responsibility in site management and on-site operations required.
- 5+ years hands-on management of craftsmen (proven track record in effectively managing small and medium sized projects required).
- 3+ years of turnaround experience (experience with the operations and environments of chemical and petroleum industry facilities).
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM or project management systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
- Valid Brazilian driver's license (Category B or equivalent).

Effort/Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in demanding environments such as refineries, power plants, and industrial sites across Brazil and internationally.
- Long working hours, typically 12-hour shifts, are standard during project deployments.
- Work is often conducted with personal protective equipment (PPE), in confined spaces and at heights.
- Must be physically capable of navigating industrial work sites and meeting health and safety entry requirements.
- Extensive travel (4-7 months per year), with most projects lasting 2-6 weeks in duration, including international assignments.

Addendum to Job Description: Project Supervisor

Governing Law: Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) and applicable collective bargaining agreements
- Employment Classification
- Employment type: Full-time, indefinite term (contrato por prazo indeterminado), registered under CLT.
- Classification: Non-exempt. Working hours will be tracked in accordance with CLT requirements and the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Overtime compensation during project deployments will follow the proportional cash overtime/banco de horas framework described in the LOI Compensation Structure and detailed in Section 4 below.
- Addendum to Key Skills and Qualifications
- Language Skills: Fluency in Portuguese (native or equivalent) is required, in addition to English.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Brazilian Regulatory Standards (Normas Regulamentadoras - NRs) applicable to welding and industrial site operations, including but not limited to NR-6 (PPE), NR-12 (Machinery and Equipment Safety), NR-15 (Unhealthy Activities), NR-16 (Hazardous Activities), NR-33 (Confined Spaces), and NR-35 (Work at Heights).
- Addendum to Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project operations comply with applicable Brazilian labor, health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the Normas Regulamentadoras (NRs) issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
- Local Coordination: Coordinate with IGS Brazil Operations to validate welding and HVTS area readiness and resource allocations.
- CBA Compliance: Ensure working time and overtime practices comply with the applicable collective bargaining agreement (SINDMAQ/SINAEES).
- Addendum to Effort/Working Conditions
- Regional Conditions: Work is performed in client facilities across Brazil, including but not limited to refineries, petrochemical plants, and power generation facilities. International travel for project assignments outside Brazil is expected.
- Working Hours: Standard working hours are 44 hours per week (220 hours per month) per CLT. During project deployments, extended shifts (up to 12 hours) may apply in accordance with CLT Art. 59 and the applicable CBA. Overtime during project deployments will be compensated as follows:
(a) Cash Overtime Period: For each project deployment, overtime worked during the first proportional period (calculated as approximately 23% of the total scheduled project duration, including any extensions, with a minimum of one (1) week and a maximum of three (3) weeks) will be compensated in cash at the applicable CLT and CBA overtime rates. In the event of a
project extension, the cash overtime period will be recalculated based on the revised total project duration, applied retroactively from the start of the deployment.
(b) Banco de Horas Period: After the cash overtime period described in (a) above, weekday and Saturday overtime hours will be compensated through a banco de horas (compensatory time off) arrangement in accordance with CLT Art. 59 and the applicable CBA.
(c) Sundays and Public Holidays: Overtime worked on Sundays and Brazilian public holidays will always be compensated in cash at the applicable CLT and CBA premium rates, regardless of the project phase.
