About the AWS Public Cloud (Platform Services) Engineering Team

American Express Platform Services team is looking for innovators to help us build world-class applications, cloud platforms, and infrastructure supported by integrated CI/CD, observability, and security capabilities.

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 5+ years managing large fleet of Kubernetes or EKS clusters, successfully leading teams responsible for highly reliable, resilient, and enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies (such as AWS, Google Cloud) and experience with cloud orchestration and automation tools like Terraform.
- Experience with DevOps practices and methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace and CloudWatch.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Certifications such as AWS Cloud Professional Architect, Kubernetes certified skilled or other relevant certifications are a plus.
