We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Export Manager to develop and manage the company's international pharmaceutical business.
International Business Development
- Identify and develop new international markets for pharmaceutical products.
- Generate current overseas customers, distributors, importers, agents and business partners.
- Develop country-wise sales and business development strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing international customers.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis and pricing analysis.
- Identify opportunities in regulated and semi-regulated markets.
- Participate in international pharmaceutical exhibitions, conferences and business meetings.
- Travel internationally as required for customer meetings and business development.
2. Export Sales & Target Achievement
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual export sales targets.
- Prepare quotations, offers, proforma invoices and commercial proposals.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, MOQs, delivery schedules and commercial agreements.
- Follow up on enquiries and convert them into purchase orders.
- Monitor sales pipeline and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
- Track competitor pricing and market trends.
3. Export Order Management
- Manage the complete export order cycle from enquiry to shipment and payment.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA/QC, Regulatory Affairs, Purchase, Finance and Logistics teams.
- Ensure timely production and dispatch of export orders.
- Monitor shipment schedules and resolve delivery-related issues.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, CHA/customs agents and shipping companies.

Export Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure accurate preparation and submission of export documentation.
- Coordinate documents such as:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Certificate of Origin
- Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
- Certificate of Analysis
- Health Certificate
- Free Sale Certificate
- GMP Certificate
- Product Registration documents
- Other country-specific documents
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian export requirements and destination-country requirements.
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs for product registrations, renewals and regulatory queries.
- Maintain proper export records and documentation.
5. Distributor & Customer Management
- Appoint and manage distributors/importers in international markets.
- Evaluate potential distributors and business partners.
- Negotiate distribution agreements and commercial terms.
- Monitor distributor performance and sales activities.
- Handle customer complaints, queries and commercial issues.
- Ensure regular communication and follow-up with overseas customers.
6. Payment & Commercial Coordination
- Coordinate with Finance for advance payments, LC, TT and other agreed payment terms.
- Follow up for outstanding payments and receivables.
- Monitor customer credit limits and payment status.
- Coordinate export invoices and banking documentation.
- Support Finance in resolving payment discrepancies.
7. Regulatory Coordination
- Work closely with the Regulatory Affairs team for country-specific registration requirements.
- Coordinate preparation of dossiers and supporting documents.
- Track product registration status, renewals and variations.
- Respond to customer/regulatory queries in coordination with RA and QA teams.
- Maintain awareness of changing pharmaceutical regulations in target markets.
8. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare weekly and monthly export sales reports.
- Maintain customer and country-wise sales data.
- Prepare sales forecasts and order pipelines.
- Report market opportunities, competitor activities and business risks to management.
- Track KPIs including enquiries, conversions, orders, sales value, collections and new customer acquisition.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical export business.
- Excellent international sales and business development skills.
- Good knowledge of export documentation and international trade procedures.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent customer relationship management.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ERP/CRM systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work with customers across different time zones.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
