About Indigo Art Auctions

Indigo Art Auctions is an art auction house specializing in the sale and promotion of artworks through curated auctions, exhibitions, and digital platforms.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company's day-to-day accounting, financial records, taxation, reconciliations, auction-related transactions, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate day-to-day accounting and financial records.
- Record and manage sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
- Handle bank and ledger reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
- Maintain accounts related to artwork consignments, auction sales, buyers, sellers, artists, vendors, and clients.
- Prepare invoices, receipts, payment statements, and other financial documentation.
- Track accounts receivable and accounts payable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Assist with auction settlements and payment reconciliation.
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports for management.
- Coordinate with CA, auditors, banks, vendors, and other financial stakeholders.
- Assist with statutory compliance including GST, TDS, income-tax-related documentation, and other applicable requirements.
- Support preparation for audits and provide required financial records and documentation.
- Monitor expenses and assist management with budgeting and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations,



and internal financial procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Excellent understanding of GST and TDS.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, ledger management, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data management, and reporting.
- Good understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) is required.

Candidates with M.Com, CA Inter, CMA, or other relevant accounting/finance qualifications will be preferred.

Experience

- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Experience working with an art gallery, auction house, luxury business, retail organization, or similar transaction-based business will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience handling GST, TDS, audits,



and complete accounting operations will be strongly preferred.

Preferred Background

Experience in any of the following will be advantageous:

- Art galleries or auction houses
- Luxury goods or premium retail
- E-commerce or transaction-based businesses
- Financial/accounting firms
- CA firms
- SMEs with end-to-end accounting responsibilities

Familiarity with art sales, consignments, commissions, auction settlements, and high-value transactions will be an added advantage.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can independently manage the company's accounting operations, rather than someone limited to basic data entry.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable handling complete bookkeeping, GST/TDS compliance, reconciliations, invoicing, auction-related transactions, reporting, and coordination with our CA/auditors.

The candidate must be highly reliable, organized, accurate, and comfortable working with confidential financial information.
