Job Description – Purchase Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to lead procurement and sourcing activities for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products. The role will be responsible for supplier management, cost optimization, inventory planning, and ensuring timely availability of materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities.

- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers.

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules.

- Manage procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.

- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.

- Review and approve purchase orders in line with business requirements.

- Develop long-term supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance.

- Drive cost reduction and value-improvement initiatives without compromising quality.

- Coordinate with Production, Quality, R&D;, Stores, and Finance teams for procurement planning.

- Ensure purchased materials meet defined quality and regulatory requirements.

- Monitor market prices, availability, and industry trends.

- Maintain accurate procurement records,



supplier agreements, and MIS reports.

- Ensure procurement activities are aligned with company budgets and policies.

- Identify and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, pricing, and supplier performance.

- Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and inventory planning.

- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

- Experience in cost control and procurement strategy.

- Strong understanding of purchase processes and documentation.

- Good knowledge of ERP/procurement software.

- Solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to manage multiple suppliers and procurement activities simultaneously.

Industry Preference

Candidates with experience in Cosmeceuticals, Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, Personal Care, Cosmetics, or related manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.

Experience

8–12 years of relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment.
