Job Description – Finance Executive

Department: Finance & Accounts
Designation: Finance Executive
Location: Rio Hospital for Women & Children
Reporting To: Finance Manager / Accounts Manager

Job Purpose

To support the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the hospital, ensuring accurate transaction recording, billing reconciliation, payment processing, financial documentation, and compliance with internal financial controls and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Accounts & Financial Transactions

- Record and maintain day-to-day financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Verify invoices, bills, payment requests and supporting documents.
- Process payments and maintain proper payment records.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
- Perform bank, cash and ledger reconciliations.

2. Hospital Revenue & Billing

- Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate recording of hospital revenue.
- Verify daily collections from OPD, IPD, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostics and other revenue areas.
- Reconcile cash, card, UPI, online and other payment collections with system reports.
- Identify billing discrepancies and coordinate with concerned departments for correction.
- Monitor insurance/TPA and corporate billing receivables.
- Follow up on outstanding hospital claims and payments.

3. Daily Financial Reporting

- Prepare daily collection and revenue reports.
- Prepare MIS reports as required by the Finance Manager.
- Assist in monthly closing activities and financial reporting.
- Maintain department-wise revenue and expense records.
- Track variances between actual and expected collections/revenue.

4. Expense & Vendor Management





- Verify vendor invoices and supporting documents before processing payments.
- Maintain vendor ledgers and payment schedules.
- Coordinate with purchase, stores and administrative departments for invoice verification.
- Monitor outstanding vendor payments.
- Ensure expenses are recorded under the correct accounting heads and cost centres.

5. Reconciliation & Audit Support

- Perform regular bank, cash, revenue and ledger reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain proper financial records and supporting documents.
- Provide required documents and reports during internal, statutory and external audits.
- Support implementation of internal financial controls.

6. Statutory Compliance

- Assist in maintaining records related to GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with senior finance team members for timely statutory filings and payments.
- Ensure proper documentation for statutory and audit purposes.

7. Internal Controls

- Follow hospital financial policies, approval processes and authorization limits.
- Ensure proper documentation and segregation of financial transactions.
- Identify potential financial irregularities and escalate them to the Finance Manager.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and patient-related information.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy of financial entries
- Timely completion of daily/monthly reconciliations
- Revenue and collection reconciliation accuracy




- Reduction in billing and accounting discrepancies
- Timely processing of vendor payments
- Outstanding receivables follow-up
- Timeliness and accuracy of MIS reports
- Audit compliance and documentation accuracy
- Compliance with internal financial controls

Qualification

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software is required.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Hospital/healthcare finance experience will be preferred.
- Experience in hospital billing, TPA/insurance reconciliation, revenue accounting or healthcare MIS will be an added advantage.

- Hospital MIS and financial reporting

Ideal Candidate: A detail-oriented finance professional with solid accounting fundamentals and preferably hands-on experience in hospital revenue, billing reconciliation, TPA/insurance, collections and healthcare financial operations.
