Location: Project / Exhibition Venue / Event Site

2. Job Purpose

The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, coordinating and maintaining all electrical works associated with exhibitions, events, conferences, temporary structures, pavilions, stages, stalls and venue installations.

The position ensures that all electrical installations are completed safely, efficiently, on time and in accordance with approved drawings, load requirements, electrical standards and venue regulations.

3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Electrical Planning & Installation

- Study electrical drawings, layouts, single-line diagrams and load schedules.
- Prepare electrical requirements for exhibition halls, stalls, pavilions, stages, conference areas, offices, kitchens and other temporary structures.
- Calculate electrical loads and ensure adequate power distribution.
- Plan requirements for cables, DBs, MCBs, MCCBs, ELCBs/RCCBs, isolators, sockets, lighting and other electrical accessories.
- Supervise installation of temporary electrical systems for events and exhibitions.
- Coordinate power requirements for lighting, AV systems, LED screens, HVAC, catering equipment, machinery and other event equipment.
- Ensure proper cable routing, cable protection, earthing and distribution.

B. Site Supervision

- Supervise electricians, technicians, helpers and electrical contractors.
- Allocate daily work and monitor manpower productivity.
- Ensure electrical work progresses according to the project schedule.
- Inspect completed installations and rectify defects immediately.
- Coordinate with civil, carpentry, fabrication, HVAC, lighting, AV and other site teams.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the electrical work areas.

C. Event & Exhibition Power Management

- Coordinate with the venue for incoming power supply and electrical connection points.
- Manage temporary power distribution during build-up, event days and dismantling.
- Ensure adequate power availability for all exhibitors and event areas.
- Monitor electrical loads during live events.
- Attend to power failures, tripping, short circuits and other electrical emergencies.
- Maintain standby arrangements for critical electrical systems.
- Coordinate with generator operators and DG sets wherever applicable.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical areas during events.

D. Electrical Safety

- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and venue regulations.
- Ensure proper earthing and protection against electrical shock.
- Check insulation, continuity and earth resistance where required.
- Ensure cables are adequately rated for the connected load.
- Prevent overloading of circuits and distribution boards.
- Ensure proper use of MCBs, MCCBs, RCCBs/ELCBs and other protection devices.
- Ensure cables crossing walkways are properly protected and ramped.
- Ensure temporary electrical installations are safe for public access.
- Immediately report and rectify unsafe electrical conditions.

E. Testing & Commissioning

- Test electrical installations before energisation.
- Check DBs, breakers, cables, sockets,



lighting circuits and distribution systems.
- Verify phase balancing wherever applicable.
- Conduct functional checks of emergency lighting and other critical systems.
- Coordinate electrical inspection and approval with the venue/client/authority.
- Maintain testing and commissioning records.

F. Materials & Inventory

- Prepare material requirements based on project drawings and site requirements.
- Monitor consumption of electrical materials.
- Maintain records of cables, wires, DBs, breakers, switches, sockets, lights, connectors and other electrical accessories.
- Coordinate with the warehouse for issue and return of materials.
- Ensure proper identification and storage of electrical materials.
- Monitor reusable electrical inventory after dismantling.
- Report damaged, missing or unserviceable materials.

G. Maintenance & Breakdown Support

- Attend to electrical breakdowns during construction, rehearsals and live events.
- Diagnose faults and arrange immediate corrective action.
- Maintain emergency electrical support during event hours.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repair and replacement of defective equipment.
- Maintain records of breakdowns and corrective actions.

H. Contractor & Vendor Coordination

- Supervise electrical contractors and subcontractors.
- Verify manpower deployment and work progress.
- Ensure contractors follow approved drawings, specifications and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with electrical equipment suppliers and rental agencies.
- Check the quality of supplied electrical materials and equipment.
- Assist the Project Manager in assessing contractor work completion.

I. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain daily electrical site reports.
- Prepare load schedules and electrical material requirements.
- Maintain records of testing, commissioning and inspections.
- Report electrical incidents, breakdowns and safety issues.
- Maintain records of electrical works completed during build-up and dismantling.
- Submit material consumption and return reports after completion of the event.
- Provide inputs for project costing and electrical requirements for future events.

4. Event-Specific Responsibilities

The Electrical Supervisor should be capable of handling electrical requirements for:

- Exhibition stalls and booths
- Large-format exhibitions
- International conferences and summits
- Convention centres
- Outdoor events
- Stage and entertainment events
- Corporate events
- Product launches
- Government events
- Trade fairs
- Pavilions and temporary structures
- VIP lounges and hospitality areas
- Registration and accreditation areas
- Food courts and catering areas
- Temporary offices and site facilities
- LED screens and AV installations
- Temporary HVAC and air-conditioning systems
- Temporary kitchens and catering equipment
- Decorative and architectural lighting

5. Typical Electrical Equipment & Materials

6. Coordination Responsibilities

The Electrical Supervisor will coordinate closely with:

7. Qualifications

Minimum: ITI – Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred: Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience in temporary electrical installations.

8. Experience

Preferred experience: 5–10 years in electrical installation, maintenance, construction, events, exhibitions, convention centres or temporary installations.

Experience in large exhibitions, international events, summits, conferences and temporary structures will be an added advantage.

9. Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of electrical installations and distribution.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and load schedules.
- Good understanding of electrical safety.
- Ability to calculate electrical loads.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Good manpower supervision capability.
- Ability to work under tight event deadlines.

10. Working Conditions

The position requires extensive site-based work and may involve:

- Night shifts during event build-up and dismantling.
- Extended working hours immediately before and during events.
- Working in exhibition halls, outdoor venues and temporary structures.
- Working at heights where required and subject to approved safety procedures.
- Working under tight deadlines and changing event requirements.
- Emergency call-outs during live events.

11. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The Electrical Supervisor will be evaluated on:

- Completion of electrical works within the project schedule.
- Zero electrical accidents and major safety violations.
- Zero avoidable power failures during live events.
- Proper electrical load management.
- Quality and safety of temporary installations.
- Material utilisation and control of wastage.
- Timely breakdown resolution.
- Effective manpower utilisation.
- Proper documentation and reporting.
- Successful completion of dismantling and recovery of electrical materials.

12. Core Objective

To ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted electrical power and lighting services for all events and exhibitions, while completing installations and dismantling within the approved time, quality, safety and budget requirements.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,836.64 per month
