Job Description (JD) – Motor Maintenance Technician / Engineer

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of AC/DC motors used in spinning, weaving, sizing, processing, and utility departments.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in induction motors, servo motors, gearbox motors, and motor control circuits.
- Perform motor rewinding coordination, bearing replacement, alignment, balancing, and insulation testing.
- Monitor motor performance, vibration levels, temperature, and energy consumption.
- Troubleshoot VFDs, soft starters, MCC panels, and electrical control systems.
- Ensure smooth operation of motors connected to compressors, pumps, blowers, cooling towers, AHUs, and textile machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain maintenance records, logs, and reports.
- Coordinate with production teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Ensure availability of critical motor spares and consumables.
- Follow electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of new motors and equipment.




- Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Desired Skills

- Strong knowledge of electrical motors, drives, and motor protection systems.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical motor issues.
- Familiarity with VFDs, PLC-controlled machinery, and industrial automation systems.
- Knowledge of insulation resistance testing, winding checks, and vibration analysis.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and motor manuals.
- Positive problem-solving and coordination skills.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
- ITI Electrician with relevant textile industry experience may also be considered.

Preferred Experience

- 3 to 7 years of experience in textile industries such as Spinning, Weaving, Processing, Sizing, or Garment Manufacturing.
- Experience handling motors of textile machinery such as Toyota Airjet Looms, Ring Frames, Open-End Machines, Humidification Systems, and Utility Equipment will be an added advantage

Pay: ₹17,167.50 - ₹29,229.38 per month
