Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Joinery Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for custom joinery, carpentry, furniture, wardrobes, kitchens, doors, wall paneling, and other interior fit-out works.

The candidate should have valuable knowledge of joinery materials, manufacturing processes, hardware, finishes, labor requirements, and installation costs, with the ability to interpret architectural and interior design drawings.

Key Responsibilities

- Review architectural, interior design, joinery, and furniture drawings.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and material requirements.
- Estimate costs for custom furniture, wardrobes, kitchens, cabinets, doors, wall panels, counters, and other joinery works.
- Calculate material, hardware, accessories, labor, transportation, installation, and finishing costs.
- Prepare accurate quotations and BOQs based on project drawings and specifications.
- Obtain and compare material and hardware prices from suppliers.
- Coordinate with designers, project managers, production teams, suppliers, and clients to clarify project requirements.
- Identify potential cost variations, wastage, and technical issues during estimation.
- Prepare cutting lists and material requirements when required.
- Maintain updated costing databases for plywood, MDF, veneer, laminates, solid wood, hardware, finishes, and other materials.
- Review supplier quotations and negotiate where required.
- Assist in value engineering and suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
- Prepare revised quotations based on design changes and client requirements.
- Support the sales and project teams during commercial negotiations.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and submitted within project deadlines.





Required Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Carpentry/Joinery, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in joinery, furniture, carpentry, interior fit-out, or related estimation work.
- Strong knowledge of furniture and joinery materials and construction methods.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, furniture, and detailed joinery drawings.
- Good understanding of hardware such as hinges, drawer systems, runners, handles, locks, and fittings.
- Experience with BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, and costing.
- Good knowledge of Excel and other estimation/costing software.
- AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet quotation deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of custom-made furniture and interior fit-out projects.
- Experience with commercial, residential, hospitality, or retail projects.
- Knowledge of CNC production and modern joinery manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of different finishing systems such as laminate, veneer, PU, duco, paint, and melamine.
- Ability to identify material wastage and optimize material usage.
- Knowledge of local supplier pricing and market rates.
