ENDODONTIST – JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Endodontist
Department: Clinical
Industry: Dental / Healthcare
Location: Chennai / Bangalore / Kanchipuram

Reporting To: Clinical Head / Management

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Endodontist to provide specialized endodontic care, including diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries affecting the dental pulp and periapical tissues. The ideal candidate should be clinically confident, patient-focused, and capable of handling routine as well as complex endodontic cases.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive endodontic examinations and diagnosis.
- Perform primary and complex Root Canal Treatments (RCT).
- Perform RCTs on anterior, premolar, and posterior teeth, including molars.
- Handle re-treatment and difficult endodontic cases.
- Manage endodontic emergencies and dental trauma cases.
- Perform pulp therapy and other appropriate endodontic procedures.
- Assess periapical pathology and determine appropriate treatment.
- Use appropriate diagnostic aids, including dental radiographs and CBCT where required.
- Refer cases requiring advanced surgical or multidisciplinary intervention when necessary.
- Maintain accurate clinical records for every patient and procedure.

Patient Consultation & Management

- Explain diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and expected outcomes to patients.
- Provide appropriate treatment recommendations based on clinical findings.
- Obtain informed consent before treatment.




- Communicate effectively with patients and address their concerns.
- Provide clear post-operative instructions and follow-up care.
- Maintain a high standard of patient comfort and satisfaction.

Treatment Planning & Coordination

- Develop comprehensive endodontic treatment plans.
- Coordinate with General Dentists, Prosthodontists, Oral Surgeons, and other specialists.
- Provide endodontic consultation for referred cases.
- Discuss complex cases with the Clinical Head when required.
- Ensure timely completion and follow-up of planned treatments.

Clinical Quality & Compliance

- Follow clinic SOPs, infection-control protocols, sterilization procedures, and patient-safety standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and treatment records.
- Ensure appropriate handling and maintenance of endodontic instruments and equipment.
- Use dental materials and equipment responsibly.
- Maintain professional ethics and patient confidentiality.
- Follow applicable dental regulations and clinical guidelines.

Teamwork & Professional Development

- Work closely with General Dentists, Dental Assistants, and clinic administration.
- Support clinical case discussions and multidisciplinary treatment planning.




- Guide junior dentists on endodontic cases when required.
- Participate in clinical meetings, training programs, and case reviews.
- Stay updated with advancements in endodontic techniques, materials, and technology.

Required Qualification

- BDS from a recognized dental institution.
- MDS in Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics from a recognized institution.
- Valid Dental Council registration.
- Relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Experience in complex RCT and retreatment cases will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a clinically skilled, confident, ethical, and patient-focused Endodontist with the ability to manage routine and complex endodontic cases while maintaining excellent treatment quality and patient experience.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
