Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Infrastructure & Virtualization Engineer to manage and optimize our datacenter-hosted infrastructure. The role focuses on virtualization, server management, backup systems, and advanced troubleshooting across multiple client environments.

This is a hands-on, production-critical role requiring strong problem-solving skills and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Virtualization & Servers

Deploy, manage, and optimize virtualization platforms:

Proxmox (primary environment)

VMware / Hyper-V (if applicable)

Create and manage virtual machines, templates, and clusters

Monitor resource utilization (CPU, RAM, Disk I/O) and optimize performance

Datacenter Infrastructure

Manage servers hosted in datacenters

Handle:

Server provisioning

Hardware coordination with DC teams

RAID, storage, and disk management

Ensure uptime and high availability of hosted systems

Backup & Disaster Recovery

Implement and manage backup solutions (e.g., Acronis, Veeam)

Perform backup monitoring, restoration testing, and DR drills

Handle data recovery in critical scenarios

Security & Access

Manage server security, firewall rules, and access control

Handle antivirus / endpoint protection

Ensure data safety and compliance

Networking

Configure and troubleshoot:

VPNs

VLANs

Firewall rules

Basic routing & switching

Work with ISPs and datacenter networking teams

Troubleshooting & Support

Provide L2/L3 support for server and virtualization issues

Diagnose:

High CPU / RAM usage

Disk bottlenecks

Network latency





Perform root cause analysis and preventive actions

Monitoring & Optimization

Implement monitoring tools and alerts

Maintain system performance, uptime, and SLA compliance

Team & Client Interaction

Guide junior engineers

Handle client escalations and critical issues

Assist in solution design and infrastructure planning

Required Skills

Core Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience in:

Proxmox (preferred) or similar virtualization platforms

Experience managing datacenter-hosted servers

Backup solutions: Acronis / Veeam

OS knowledge:

Windows Server

Linux (basic to intermediate)

Storage understanding:

RAID configurations

NAS / SAN

Networking Skills

Good understanding of:

TCP/IP

VPNs

Firewalls

VLANs

Tools & Environment

Remote access tools (RDP, TSplus, etc.)

Monitoring tools and logging systems

Soft Skills

Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking

Ability to handle pressure situations and critical downtime

Good communication with clients and internal teams

Ownership mindset

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in MSP / multi-client environment

Exposure to accounting or ERP hosting (e.g., Tally environments)

Certifications (optional but good to have):

VMware / Linux / Networking

Key Expectations

Ability to independently handle production environments

Fast response to incidents

Proactive system improvements

High accountability for uptime and performance

Has actually managed servers, not just “configured” them

Has faced real downtime scenarios

Understands disk failures, backup corruption, VM crashes

Can troubleshoot without Google dependency in critical cases

Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
