About the Role

Vedanta PU College is looking for an experienced, dynamic and academically strong Principal to lead the institution and drive excellence across academics, student development, faculty performance, administration and campus operations.

The Principal will be the academic and administrative leader of the institution and will work closely with the Management, Academic Heads, faculty, residential team and parents to build a high-performing, disciplined and student-centric institution.

The ideal candidate should combine strong academic leadership, operational discipline, people management and strategic thinking.

Academic Leadership

- Provide overall leadership for the PUC academic programme.
- Ensure effective delivery of the Karnataka PUC curriculum.
- Oversee integrated preparation for NEET, JEE and KCET, wherever applicable.
- Develop and implement the annual academic plan.
- Ensure timely syllabus completion with appropriate revision and testing.
- Monitor academic standards through regular classroom observations, assessments and performance reviews.
- Analyse student results and implement corrective measures.
- Promote concept-based, application-oriented and student-centric teaching.
- Establish systems for doubt resolution, remedial teaching and academic mentoring.
- Coordinate with subject heads and coaching faculty to ensure academic integration.

Faculty Leadership & Performance

- Recruit, mentor and develop high-quality teaching faculty.
- Set clear academic and professional expectations for faculty members.
- Conduct regular faculty performance reviews.
- Monitor lesson plans, classroom delivery, student feedback and academic outcomes.
- Identify faculty training and development requirements.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Resolve academic and interpersonal issues within the faculty team.
- Maintain a safe, disciplined and positive learning environment.
- Establish clear systems for student attendance, punctuality and academic discipline.
- Monitor student academic and behavioural performance.
- Ensure effective mentoring and counselling systems.
- Work closely with residential/hostel staff to monitor student welfare.
- Encourage participation in co-curricular, leadership and personality-development activities.
- Ensure that students receive appropriate academic and emotional support.

Residential Campus Management

As the institution operates in a residential environment, the Principal will oversee the overall student experience beyond the classroom.

- Coordinate with hostel, mess, transport and campus teams.
- Monitor hostel discipline and student safety.




- Ensure proper implementation of campus rules and routines.
- Review food, hygiene, cleanliness and residential facilities.
- Ensure appropriate supervision of students outside classroom hours.
- Establish effective communication systems between academic and residential teams.5. Parent & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary academic leadership point for parents.

Administration & Operations

- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the college.
- Coordinate academic schedules, examinations, events and institutional activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper academic and administrative documentation.
- Coordinate with Management on staffing, infrastructure and operational requirements.
- Monitor attendance, academic records and institutional reports.
- Ensure effective coordination between all departments.

Examination & Results Management

- Establish a structured examination and assessment system.
- Supervise internal examinations, preparatory tests and competitive-exam assessments.
- Analyse batch-wise, subject-wise and student-wise performance.
- Identify high performers and academically weak students.
- Develop intervention strategies based on performance data.
- Take ownership of improving PUC, NEET, JEE and KCET outcomes.

Institutional Growth

- Work with Management to develop the academic vision and long-term strategy of the institution.
- Contribute to improving student admissions, retention and results.
- Develop systems that enable the institution to scale without compromising quality.
- Promote innovation in teaching, assessment and student management.
- Encourage the adoption of technology and data-driven academic decision-making.
- Strengthen the institution's reputation for academic excellence and student outcomes.

The Principal will be accountable for:

- NEET/JEE/KCET performance
- Syllabus completion and revision quality

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed./M.Ed.



or equivalent educational qualification preferred.
- Strong academic background with demonstrated leadership capability.
- Candidates with experience in PUC, CBSE, ICSE or competitive-exam institutions will be preferred.

Experience

- 8–12+ years of overall teaching/academic experience preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an academic leadership or administrative role preferred.
- Experience as Principal, Vice Principal, Academic Director, Head of Institution or Senior Academic Coordinator will be an advantage.
- Experience managing residential educational institutions will be highly preferred.
- Experience with NEET/JEE integrated academic models will be an added advantage.
