Summary:
The AWS Neptune Database Administrator (L3) is responsible for the administration, performance optimization, monitoring, security, backup, recovery, and high availability of Amazon Neptune environments. The role provides advanced operational support for graph database platforms, resolves complex incidents, drives automation initiatives, and ensures database reliability, security, compliance, and operational excellence within AWS cloud environments.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Neptune Database Administration
Administer and support Amazon Neptune clusters and instances.
Configure and manage cluster scaling, replication, and failover.
Perform database provisioning, upgrades, patch validation, and lifecycle management.
Manage Gremlin and SPARQL query workloads.
Performance & Capacity Management
Analyze database performance bottlenecks and optimize query execution.
Monitor CPU, memory, storage, IOPS, and connection utilization.
Implement performance tuning and capacity planning recommendations.
Review graph data models and indexing strategies.
Monitoring & Operations
Monitor Neptune environments using CloudWatch and enterprise monitoring tools.
Troubleshoot database availability, latency, replication,
and connectivity issues.
Participate in Major Incident Management (P1/P2) and root cause analysis.
Develop operational dashboards and alerts.
Backup, Recovery & DR
Manage automated backups and snapshot lifecycle.
Execute database restore and recovery activities.
Support DR testing and validation exercises.
Maintain recovery procedures and runbooks.
Security & Compliance
Implement IAM-based access control and least-privilege access.
Configure encryption at rest and in transit using AWS KMS.
Address vulnerability remediation and security findings.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Database Management.
- Strong knowledge of incident and problem management processes within IT operations.
- Experience in creating and managing Requests for Change to support system updates and improvements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
- Familiarity with maintaining and updating knowledge base articles to aid troubleshooting efforts.
- Skilled in monitoring and ensuring operational stability across multiple business system components.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have minimum 8 years of experience in AWS Neptune Database Administration (DBA).
This position is based at our Bengaluru/Pune office.
