The role will combine deep Financial Crime domain expertise with capability leadership, operational excellence, consulting, transformation, and people leadership.
The successful candidate will own the development of Financial Crime methodologies, standards, processes, assets, and expertise across the organisation, while supporting client implementation engagements and ensuring high-quality delivery.
The role will work closely with business leaders, professional services delivery teams, product and technology teams, and senior client stakeholders to strengthen the organisation's professional services capabilities and drive the adoption of our platform.
Job Description:
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10–15 years of overall professional experience, with significant experience in Financial Crime, AML, KYC, CDD/EDD, sanctions, transaction monitoring, compliance, or related areas.
- 7+ years of hands-on Financial Crime domain experience, preferably across multiple jurisdictions and financial services environments.
- Strong subject matter expertise across AML/KYC/KYB, CDD/EDD, sanctions, PEP screening, adverse media, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity investigations, risk assessment, and Financial Crime controls.
- Proven experience leading Financial Crime teams, capabilities, or large-scale operational programmes in a global, multinational, consulting, or shared-services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior Financial Crime SME, providing guidance on complex cases, risk decisions, regulatory interpretation, and control requirements.
- Experience designing or improving Financial Crime operating models, processes, controls, governance frameworks, and quality frameworks.
- Strong experience in process transformation, standardisation, continuous improvement, and technology-enabled Financial Crime operations.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across multiple geographies, business functions, and organisational units.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and industry frameworks, including FATF, FCA, FinCEN, EU AML requirements, and other applicable AML/CFT and sanctions regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing operational performance through KPIs, SLAs, quality measures, productivity metrics, risk indicators, and management reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make risk-based decisions in complex and ambiguous situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex Financial Crime concepts clearly to both business and technical audiences.
- Strong people leadership, coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced global workplace and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- CAMS, ICA, CAMI, or equivalent Financial Crime / AML certification.
- Experience in a Financial Crime Centre of Excellence, consulting organisation, Big Four, global bank, or financial services organisation.
- Experience developing Financial Crime consulting propositions, methodologies, accelerators, and reusable assets.
- Experience supporting client-facing consulting, solution design, pre-sales, or business development activities.
- Knowledge of Financial Crime technology platforms such as Norkom, LexisNexis, Fenergo, NetReveal, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience using data and analytics to improve Financial Crime effectiveness, including SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar tools.
- Understanding of AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies and their application to Financial Crime operations.
- Experience working across multiple regulatory jurisdictions, particularly US, UK, EU, Middle East, and APAC.
What We Look For
- A Financial Crime domain leader, rather than purely an operational manager.
- Someone who can combine deep subject matter expertise with capability building and strategic thinking.
- Strong ownership of the Financial Crime capability, with the ability to establish standards and drive consistency across teams and engagements.
- A leader who can move comfortably between client conversations, complex Financial Crime problems, operational delivery, capability development, and strategic transformation.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a strong focus on standardisation, automation, data, analytics, and technology-enabled Financial Crime solutions.
- Solid commercial and consulting orientation, with the ability to translate Financial Crime expertise into client value and scalable CoE offerings.
- A collaborative and credible leader who can influence senior stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.
- Strong focus on quality, regulatory integrity, risk management, and delivery excellence.
