About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller to take full ownership of Qoves accounting function and build a reliable, scalable accounting operation as the company continues to grow.

Qoves operates a subscription-based SaaS business with a growing international customer base and a multi-entity, multi-currency finance environment. This role will play a key part in ensuring the accounting function can scale effectively with the business. The successful candidate will own the month-end close, accounting operations, financial controls, reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting processes across the business. The role will work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and support the company's continued growth.

In this role, you will own the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring the company's books are accurate, complete, and up to date. You will manage the month-end and year-end close processes,



including the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules, while overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping, AP/AR, transaction recording, account coding, reconciliations, and external accounting support.

You will manage bank, credit card, Stripe, and other payment processor reconciliations, ensuring the accurate accounting of revenue and subscription-related transactions. You will also oversee accounting for accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, multi-entity activities, multi-currency accounting, and international transactions.

The role will also involve ensuring the correct accounting and VAT treatment of transactions within the UK entity, working with external tax and accounting advisors where appropriate. You will support tax-related accounting and compliance processes, including VAT and sales tax where applicable, and establish, maintain, and improve accounting policies, financial controls, systems, processes, and automation.

You will identify accounting issues, investigate discrepancies, and drive them to resolution, while ensuring accounting records are maintained to a high standard and remain audit- and due-diligence-ready. You will also coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other finance partners as needed, and support the Head of Finance with investor reporting by providing accurate, timely, and well-supported financial information.

What We're Looking For

- Bachelorʼs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with proven experience managing an accounting function or team, ideally in a high-growth startup, SaaS, technology, or similarly fast-paced environment.




- Strong understanding of US GAAP, with familiarity with IFRS and international accounting practices.
- Proven experience owning or managing a full month-end close and financial reporting process.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue, preferably in a subscription-based SaaS environment.
- Experience with US and UK entities, cross-border and multi-currency accounting, and international transactions.
- Experience with accounting platforms, especially Xero, and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Experience managing, reviewing, or coordinating the work of accountants, bookkeepers, or external accounting providers.
- Experience with accounting for capital raises, equity transactions, and other financing activities.
- Experience implementing internal controls and preparing a company for audit and due diligence.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability, with the ability to independently identify problems, investigate discrepancies, and implement solutions.
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth, fast-changing startup environment, with strong communication and organizational skills.
