Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This role is responsible for Plan, execute, and monitor all procurement activities of the Indirect materials and services Gates procures in order to satisfy expected standards of reliability, timing, and cost. Develop commodity strategies to support business initiatives. Optimize total cost and maintain a robust funnel of cost down initiatives. Responsible to negotiate cost, terms and contracting with suppliers, and ensure supply base possesses adequate capacity to support Gates demand. Fully responsible for the performance of suppliers within assigned categories.

The assigned territories include All businesses in India. The specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:

- Responsible for all matters related to cost of supply for assigned categories. Establish and implement strategies and lead Sourcing activities (sourcing events, negotiations, data analysis, projects, contract lifecycle management, supplier development and selection, data management, etc.) to optimize costs, working capital, and terms; and minimize financial and operational risk. Coordinate with Stakeholders for all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for the related commodities.
- Assure material flow of assigned categories into respective Gates sites.Responsible for supplier performance,. Implement and maintain KPIs to monitor and improve performance of managed supply base. Conduct recurring business reviews with assigned suppliers.



Ensure suppliers are compliant to Gates supply agreements and requirements. Manage Freight, warehousing, packaging cost etc.
- Build stakeholder alignment to support initiatives. Identify and develop suppliers to support new product development.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The incumbent reports to The incumbent reports to Sourcing Leader India and support him in all day to day operations to achieve the business objectives of the company.

Requirements And Preferred Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)
- Total work experience of 12 years.
- Excellent analytical and project management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication across regions, functions, and levels; fluent in English.
- Excellent negotiating capability.
- Collaboration and influence management skills; works effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and MRP/supply chain systems.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of time.
- Preferred: CPSM (ISM) or CSCP (APICS) certification.
- Preferred: experience in a manufacturing environment.
