Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Consultant – Neuro Anaesthesia to provide comprehensive anaesthesia care for patients undergoing neurosurgical and neuro-interventional procedures. The role involves perioperative management of complex neurological cases, critical care support, and close coordination with neurosurgery and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anaesthesia services for elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures.
- Manage complex neuroanaesthesia cases including cranial, spine, vascular and trauma surgeries.
- Provide anaesthesia for neuro-interventional procedures where required.
- Perform pre-anaesthesia evaluation and optimise patients for surgery.
- Ensure appropriate intraoperative monitoring and haemodynamic management.
- Manage difficult airway, critically ill and high-risk neurological patients.
- Provide postoperative care and pain management,



including coordination with Neuro ICU/ICU teams.
- Participate in emergency and on-call services.
- Work closely with Neurosurgery, Neurology, Critical Care and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, patient safety standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, academic activities, teaching and training of junior doctors and residents.

Qualification & Experience
- MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology from a recognised institution.
- Fellowship/qualification in Neuro Anaesthesia preferred.
- Relevant experience in a tertiary-care hospital with exposure to complex neurosurgical cases.
- Robust clinical, communication and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and high-acuity environment.
