Medical Assistant-Radiation Therapy, Cancer Center

Non Exempt- Full Time

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.

Duties And Responsibilities

Assist in giving patient care. Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
Strong blood draw skills a must.
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
Operates and manages lab equipment including start-up, running controls & shut down as requested. Provides required reports.
Experience with medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care.
Perform common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work workplace.
Maintaining records and recording test results.
Develop and maintain department quality assurance.
Maintain quality control standards.
Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
Communicate clearly.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.




Helps with CT prep.
Assist in training new employees.
Performs related work as required.

Qualifications And Experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Professional demeanor and courteous attitude with emphasis on customer service
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
Involves standing and walking
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
Requires normal range visual acuity and hearing

Education/ Training Requirements

High School Graduate or GED
CNA/Medical Assistant School graduate from accredited school or two years of work experience recommended
