Role Description The Mechanical Lab Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Howrah, responsible for supporting mechanical testing and quality assurance activities in the lab and on the shop floor.



The role involves preparing and setting up test specimens and equipment, conducting mechanical tests (such as hardness, tensile, impact, and dimensional checks), and recording accurate measurements and observations. The technician will assist in calibration and routine maintenance of lab instruments, follow testing protocols and safety procedures, and help investigate non-conformities in materials and fabricated components. Day-to-day tasks also include documenting test results, preparing basic reports for engineers and supervisors, maintaining organized records, and coordinating with production and quality teams to ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer specifications.
Qualifications
Solid mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and mechanical systems.
