Job Description:
- A dental specialist specialty (handling 2021 guidelines)
- Certification is mandatory
- Positive knowledge of medical coding systems, medical terminologies, regulatory requirements, auditing concepts and principles
- Assign appropriate codes to each procedure using Current Dental Terminology (CDT), CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II
- Document treatments and ensure codes meet federal regulations and insurance standards
- Submit relevant information to the patient or insurer for payment
- Follow up on unpaid dental claims to ensure the practice receives the correct reimbursement
- Respond to dental records requests and invoice the requestor
- Work as part of a team and support billers and AR analysts
