Responsibilities:
- Lead the Software Engineering competence area in India within NPD Engineering organization, including people management, performance management, and team well-being.
- Build, develop, and maintain engineering capabilities in software engineering, covering embedded control systems, simulation, functional safety and autonomy development.
- Own and develop engineering ways of working for software disciplines, including design practices, documentation, quality and cybersecurity standards.
- Ensure consistent technical quality and compliance of software engineering contributions to Product Development initiatives.
- Support Product Development through matrix resourcing, ensuring appropriate software expertise is available when needed.
- Collaborate closely with Architecture & Systems Engineering to ensure alignment with system architecture, interfaces, and safety concepts.
- Work with Validation & Release Management to support testability, verification, and compliance of control system and software solutions.
- Contribute to capacity planning and workload balancing, ensuring sustainable use of engineering resources.
- Drive competence development and learning, including training plans, mentoring, and career development of technical experts.
- Support the introduction and use of software engineering tools, methods, and simulation environments.
- Promote a culture of engineering excellence, safety awareness, and continuous improvement.
