Store Manager — Roles & Responsibilities

A Store Manager is responsible for the overall management and control of materials, components, hardware, finished goods, inventory accuracy, storage systems, and material movement within the modular furniture organization.

1. Overall Store Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of the stores and warehouse.
- Establish systematic processes for receiving, storage, issue, transfer, and dispatch.
- Ensure materials are available to Production, Projects, and Installation as required.
- Maintain proper identification and location of all materials.
- Ensure smooth material flow without unnecessary delays.

2. Material Receiving
- Supervise receipt of materials from suppliers.
- Verify quantities against Purchase Orders and delivery documents.
- Coordinate quality inspection where required.
- Ensure damaged, incorrect, or excess materials are identified and reported.
- Ensure received materials are properly entered into the ERP/system.

3. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory of:
- Boards and panels
- Laminates and veneers




- Hardware and fittings
- Adhesives and consumables
- Accessories
- Packaging materials
- Finished furniture
- Tools and other store-controlled items
- Establish minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Monitor slow-moving, fast-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Prevent stock-outs of critical materials.

4. Storage & Material Organization
- Develop an productive storage and rack-location system.
- Ensure materials are stored according to type, size, specification, and usage.
- Implement proper material identification and labelling.
- Ensure safe stacking and storage.
- Protect materials from moisture, dust, damage, and deterioration.
- Maintain FIFO/appropriate stock rotation where applicable.

5. Material Issue & Control
- Ensure materials are issued only against authorized requests/work orders.
- Verify material type, quantity, and project before issue.
- Maintain records of material issues.
