About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Source and negotiate competitive ocean freight rates with shipping lines, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines and transport vendors.
- Compare freight quotations and prepare cost analyses to maximize profitability.
- Coordinate bookings with shipping lines and ensure timely space confirmation.
- Monitor vessel schedules, sailing updates, rollovers, and transit times.
- Coordinate with operations, sales, documentation, and customer service teams for smooth shipment execution.
- Ensure timely release of Shipping Instructions (SI), VGM submissions, and booking confirmations.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve operational issues or delays.
- Maintain updated freight rate sheets and vendor databases.




- Coordinate inland transportation where required.
- Verify freight invoices and ensure billing accuracy.
- Support the sales team by providing timely quotations and rate updates.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company SOPs.
- Prepare reports on freight costs, vendor performance, and shipment status.

Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ocean freight operations and international shipping.
- Understanding of Incoterms, Bills of Lading, container types, and shipping documentation.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and logistics software/ERP systems.
