Job Title:Solution Architect - L2 RAN (4G/5G)

Function:Systems Engineering / RAN Software Architecture

Domain:4G LTE (eNB) | 5G NR (gNB) | vRAN | O-RAN | Custom Platforms

Experience:12+ years in L2 RAN software development; additional program delivery experience preferred

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecture Design
- Define and own the end-to-end L2 solution architecture across MAC, RLC, and PDCP for LTE and NR, encompassing segmentation/reassembly, retransmission, flow control, and QoS.
- Architect packet splitting, duplication, ciphering, and integrity interaction points in alignment with 3GPP 36.3xx and 38.3xx specifications.
- Drive design for duplex-aware subsystems, addressing TDD/FDD timing implications on HARQ, scheduler timing, uplink grant strategies, DRX interactions, and BSR/LCP behaviour.
- Define L2-L1 and L2-L3 interface contracts; articulate 3GPP RAN functional split options (Options 2-8) and their L2 implications across CU/DU.
- Lead architecture of MAC scheduling frameworks for eNB and gNB, covering resource allocation, multi-UE fairness,



QoS flow-to-radio bearer mapping, and power-saving optimisation.

Product Development Delivery
- Drive large-scale 4G/5G L2 product development programs involving multiple eNodeB/gNodeB variants across vRAN, O-RAN, and custom form factors.
- Own sustenance and customer support programs; provide architectural guidance on field escalations involving KPI loss, retransmission inefficiency, or QoS degradation.
- Ensure feature scalability from a system-level perspective, spanning FPGA/SoC-based radio acceleration, SmartNIC/DPU-assisted data paths, DPDK/hugepages/SR-IOV, and Linux performance tuning for virtualised DU/CU.
- Define coding, debugging, and traceability standards for state machine design, error handling, and ASN.1/protocol decode workflows.

- Review and mentor high-performance L2 teams toward delivery excellence in PDCP/RLC/MAC development on diverse platforms and
