About us
The Oddment is a design-led materials and objects brand under Surana Petro-Tex, working with GFP (Green Foam Panel), carbon fibre, and glass fibre composites. We design and fabricate physical objects — furniture, sculptural art pieces, lighting — grounded in real material and structural capability, not concepts on screen.

This is NOT a UI/UX, tech, or digital product design role. We're looking for someone focused entirely on physical objects — furniture, decor, and composite material design.

What you'll do
- Design physical furniture and decor objects that translate directly into buildable, fabricatable forms
- Work hands-on with our fabrication team to prototype in composite materials (GFP, carbon fibre, glass fibre layups)
- Understand structural behavior — bend radii, load paths, balance, weight distribution, finish — well enough to catch problems before they reach the workshop floor
- Develop cohesive furniture/object collections with a consistent design language across scale, form, and finish
- Collaborate directly with fabrication on mold-making, layup planning,



and finish quality

What we're looking for
- Background in industrial design, furniture design, or product design for physical goods — not digital/screen-based design
- Hands-on prototyping experience is essential — sketching alone isn't enough, you should be comfortable in a workshop
- Understanding of materials like wood, composites, metal, or similar — comfort with structural/engineering thinking around physical form
- Someone who can work independently in a small, fast-moving team, iterating from concept to physical prototype quickly
