Job Summary

Ahmedabad International School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Economics Teacher to join our secondary school faculty. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, rigorous instruction aligned with the current IB Economics curriculum and help students develop strong analytical, evaluative, and research skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach IBDP Economics at Standard Level and Higher Level.
- Plan and deliver inquiry-based lessons aligned with IB standards and practices.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.
- Guide students through the Economics Internal Assessment, including commentary selection, economic analysis, diagrams, evaluation, and academic integrity.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Use current economic events and real-world examples to make learning relevant.
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varied learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to students,



parents, and school leaders.
- Collaborate with the DP Coordinator and colleagues on curriculum planning, moderation, and professional development.
- Contribute to school activities, student enrichment, and the wider school community.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification or licence.
- Previous experience teaching IBDP Economics is strongly preferred.
- Sound knowledge of the current IB Economics syllabus, assessment criteria, and Internal Assessment requirements.
- Solid classroom-management, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to use educational technology effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, academic integrity, and the IB learner profile.
