About the Role

Kanan.co is looking for a
creative and performance-focused Video Editor
to join our
YouTube Growth Team
. The ideal candidate should understand how editing contributes to
YouTube growth, audience retention, engagement, and content performance
.

The candidate must have a
professionally maintained showreel/portfolio account
and should be able to complete a
practical editing task assigned by the company
as part of the selection process.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Edit YouTube Long form videos, Shorts, Reels, promotional videos, interviews, educational content, and other digital content.
- Transform raw footage into engaging, polished, and audience-friendly videos.
- Create solid
hooks, transitions, pacing, storytelling, and visual sequences
to improve viewer retention.




- Edit content according to YouTube audience behaviour, trends, and platform requirements.
- Add subtitles, captions, motion graphics, animations, sound effects, B-rolls, images, and other visual elements wherever required.
- Select and synchronize appropriate background music, voiceovers, sound effects, and audio elements.
- Create engaging thumbnails/visual assets when required or coordinate with the design team for the same.
- Repurpose long-form YouTube content into
YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other short-form formats
.
- Work closely with the YouTube Growth Team, content writers, scriptwriters, presenters, and marketing team.
- Follow brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all video content.
- Review edited videos carefully to ensure there are no technical, grammatical, visual, or audio errors.
- Manage multiple editing projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
