- Prepare metal samples for spectrometer (OES) testing.
- Operate the spectrometer and check the chemical composition of cast metals.
- Perform microstructure examination using a metallurgical microscope.
- Prepare samples by cutting, grinding, polishing, and etching for micro examination.
- Conduct hardness testing as per specified methods and standards.
- Record and maintain spectro, micro, and hardness test results.
- Compare test results with required material specifications and grades.
- Immediately inform the Quality/Metallurgy Engineer about out-of-specification results.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, testing tools, and work area.
