Embedded / Firmware Engineer – AI Camera System

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded / Firmware Engineer to develop and integrate device-side software for an AI-enabled security camera system. The role involves camera sensor integration, video pipelines, AI runtime integration, embedded services, connectivity, and SoC platform integration.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate camera sensors, drivers, BSP, and video pipelines.
- Work with V4L2, GStreamer/FFmpeg, RTSP, H.264/H.265 and video encoding.
- Integrate AI/ML runtimes with camera and video pipelines.
- Develop device services for registration, telemetry, heartbeat, and SOC/cloud connectivity.
- Implement watchdog, network recovery, retry mechanisms, and device monitoring.
- Support firmware versioning, OTA updates, and rollback mechanisms.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on BSP, SDK, NPU, drivers, and prototype bring-up.
- Debug and optimize embedded systems for performance, stability, and 24/7 operation.





Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux.
- Practical experience in camera/video development.
- Valuable understanding of RTSP, H.264/H.265, GStreamer, FFmpeg, and V4L2.
- Experience with REST APIs and/or MQTT.
- Strong Linux debugging and shell scripting skills.
- Working knowledge of UART, I2C, SPI, and GPIO.
- Good understanding of embedded system debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

Preferred Experience

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following platforms is a plus:

NVIDIA Jetson | Qualcomm | Rockchip | Ambarella | Hailo | NXP | Similar Edge-AI SoCs

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Embedded Linux, camera/video pipelines, firmware development, and edge-AI systems, with the ability to work closely with hardware, BSP, and AI teams.
