Role & responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized analysis of food, water, agricultural, and environmental samples.
- Conduct chemical testing including moisture, ash, fat, protein, fiber, acidity, salt, sugar, and other nutritional parameters.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, FTIR, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, and other analytical equipment as required.
- Prepare reagents, standards, calibration solutions, and test samples.
- Record, review, and interpret analytical data accurately.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality management systems and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), test methods, and safety guidelines.
- Participate in method validation, measurement uncertainty studies, and proficiency testing programs.
- Maintain testing records, worksheets, logbooks,



and laboratory documentation.
- Assist during internal and external audits and accreditation assessments.
- Report deviations, non-conformities, and equipment issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and protected laboratory practices.

Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in a food testing laboratory (freshers may be considered for junior positions).
- Knowledge of FSSAI, BIS, AOAC, IS, ISO, and other relevant testing standards.
- Experience with analytical instruments and laboratory quality systems is preferred.
